This Software Delivers Mixes That Translate Everywhere

At Sweetwater, we often say, "If you can't hear it, you can't mix it." This conundrum certainly doesn't apply to Sonarworks SoundID Reference, an intelligent software that calibrates your speakers and headphones to ensure consistent, accurate monitoring in an endless array of production environments. SoundID Reference works by applying a calibration profile to your monitoring output, supplying you with a ruler-flat response across all audible frequencies. The software is a breeze to use — most users find that they can complete the calibration process in less than 20 minutes. SoundID Reference permits you to make custom, on-the-fly curve adjustments, and you can save as many profiles as you'd like, which makes moving between different speakers, headphones, and rooms seamless and effortless. You can also audition your mixes on more than 20 different simulated devices without leaving your workstation. Think of SoundID Reference as insurance for mix translation. With it in your toolkit, you can be confident that your mixes will sound as good as gold everywhere.

Achieve ultra-accurate monitoring — effortlessly

Calibrating your studio monitors with SoundID Reference is a piece of cake. Just connect a measurement microphone to your audio interface, fire up the software, and you're good to go (microphone sold separately). And since it comes with more than 280 ready-to-use headphone calibration profiles, tailoring the software to your headphones is even easier. SoundID Reference's calibration profiles create a target frequency response that's flat across all audible frequencies. This calibration software also allows you to make custom, real-time adjustments to the target curve for profiles that are tailored to your individual application. And since you can save as many profiles as you'd like, switching between different speakers, headphones, and rooms is 100% seamless.

Overflowing with pro-level features

Sonarworks SoundID Reference is packed with an astounding number of pro-requested features. For starters, the software includes both DAW plug-in and standalone desktop application components. You get three filter modes: zero latency, mixed, and linear phase, along with extra DSP processing controls, including mono, dry/wet, and safe headroom. SoundID Reference's Translation Check feature alone is worth the software's price of admission, enabling you to audition your mixes on more than 20 different simulated devices. The SoundID Reference application includes MIDI mapping for various parameters, as well as user presets for switching between predefined output devices/channel pair combinations.

Reviews

A Studio Must Have....
I purchased the SoundID Reference for speakers and headphones for my home setup. I tried other calibration tools and apps that fell short of what I needed to get my room sounding right. Purchases through Sweetwater is always simple and easy. Their sales reps are friendly and knowledgeable. I did purchase the measurement microphone as well which works seamlessly with the app. The license for the software was sent via email in less than an hour after I made the purchase, and the microphone was delivered 2 days after. I am very pleased with the results I get from the SoundID Reference Plugin and how easy it is to calibrate my setup for mixing. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggles with getting the right feedback from their room.

Nothing short of amazing
I thought my room was good before. I have a lot of thick treatment, RME interface, Hedd monitors, etc, but sonarworks took it all to the next level. I am honestly shocked at the difference. I exported the calibration file onto my RME UCX II so the correction is happening on the interface itself with no software or additional latency, and since I'm running AES from the interface to the monitors, 4 fewer conversions/latency in the monitoring chain than the IK ARC would have required.
Amazing difference
I bought the software and microphone to calibrate my studio monitors and headphones. The before and after difference was literally amazing. The software even detected a slightly incorrect setting on one of my monitors. The software was easy to use; I didn't install inside my DAW, instead I push a button in the app to switch between studio monitors and headphones. I find the studio monitors and headphones sound much more similar now; before doing the calibration I was needing to "compromise" more between these two target environments.
Major improvement in mix translation to my vehicle high end sound system.
This is one of those purchases you really kick yourself in the butt for having not purchased sooner. Anybody who owns any level of studio who performs mixing NEEDS to tune their speakers and space and this does it better than any other manufacturer out there. I've had the less expensive IKM system and this is far more thorough in analyzing your mixing speakers and most importantly, your space. I am currently in process of updating to Dolby ATMOS and will be updating my license to the ATMOS version of software. I could not be happier with the results. 10 Stars!

Sonarworks sound id
When I biuld my studio I treated and sound proof pretty good.. however using sonarworks expose some lows in my treatment. I was able to get my monitors flat. I purchased the headphone upgrade however I have not used yet.. definitely worth the price and make sure you purchase the bundle with the mic
