A Classic Single-cutaway Guitar from Schecter

The Schecter Solo-II Custom is the electric guitar for you when you want the look and feel of a classic instrument with modern features that offer a wider tonal range and a more enjoyable playing experience. Schecter selected the tonewood combination of a mahogany body and a maple top for their blend of warmth and attack. The Solo-II Custom is loaded with a Schecter USA Pasadena neck humbucking pickup and a Schecter USA Pasadena Plus bridge humbucking pickup. And a compensated nut for intonation, coil splitting, and locking tuners round out the Solo-II Custom’s feature set.

Tried-and-true construction

The Schecter Solo-II Custom electric guitar’s classic combination of a mahogany body, a mahogany set neck, and a single-cutaway design has found a home with countless guitarists worldwide, offering a sound that has plenty of warmth and bark. The flamed maple top delivers stellar sustain and a quick attack, and you’ll notice that harmonics and transients explode from the ebony fretboard. But Schecter is far from copying an old design. Thanks to the sharp cutaway, thin “C” neck profile, and Schecter headstock, the Solo-II Custom still has a look and feel all its own.

Hot-rodded PAF-style humbuckers

You’ll love the clear, full-bodied tone of the Schecter USA Pasadena humbuckers in the Solo-II Custom. The Pasadena neck pickup is great at achieving all the warmth and top-end detail of great vintage-era PAF humbuckers. The Pasadena Plus in the bridge was designed for Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Zacky Vengeance. It boasts a more pronounced upper midrange that cuts right through a mix. And the increased output is great for driving your amps or pedals just a bit harder.

Touches for modern performance

The Solo-II Custom does depart from a strictly vintage construction in many ways. Features like its Schecter locking tuners offer a level of tuning stability not matched by many older models of guitars. An Ernie Ball compensated nut keeps the guitar’s intonation consistent across the whole range of the fretboard. And the Pasadena humbuckers can be coil split via a push-pull tone pot to access single-coil sounds. Players at Sweetwater are really impressed with how well Schecter blended the best features of vintage and modern designs in the Solo-II Custom.

Schecter Solo-II Custom Features:

  • Classic guitar design with modern features
  • Mahogany body with flamed maple top for punchy, warm tone
  • Schecter USA Pasadena neck humbucking pickup
  • Schecter USA Pasadena Plus bridge humbucking pickup
  • Thin “C” 3-piece mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and 22 extra-jumbo frets
  • Push-pull knob for coil-splitting options
  • Schecter locking tuners to keep you in tune
  • Quality TonePros bridge and tailpiece for stellar sustain
  • Spot-on intonation thanks to an Ernie Ball compensated nut

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

It just plays
I am very impressed with this guitar. Extremely easy to play, sounds great with any combination of effects. The neck is probably the best I've played in a long time. For the price, this thing punches way above its weight.

What a Les Paul Should Be
Better specs, better fit and finish, better playing and sounding than my Gibson Les Paul Studio....for about half the price. I haven't found any finish flaws or issues with this guitar. The locking tuners work great. The nut was cut well and doesn't have any issues with string binding. Action was perfect right out of the box. The fretwork is spotless. The neck is similar to a 60s Gibson with the added benefit of being compound radius and satin finished. The real gem is the pickups. They are tight and focused without being stiff. They cover anything from almost jazz like cleans to blues to rock to metal....and do them all really well. This is the first guitar I've purchased in a long time that I haven't had to change or modify anything on it. If you're looking for a Les Paul... you can't beat this especially for the price.
Just a great guitar!
I am just glad someone told me to look into this guitar. Absolutely worth every penny and a penny more.
Schecter Custom Solo II
If you love Les Paul guitars, the Schecter Custom Solo II is a standout. It respects the classic Les Paul style but adds its own unique features.

The craftsmanship on this guitar is top-notch, with a flawless finish and precise fretwork that can rival many Gibsons. It's built to be reliable and durable, giving you confidence in its quality.

Sound-wise, the Schecter Custom Solo II delivers. Its humbuckers offer a rich, warm tone that stays clear even with high gain, making it great for everything from blues to metal. You can also switch to single-coil mode, giving you bright, crisp tones typically associated with single-coil pickups.

For those who appreciate the Les Paul design but want something more versatile, the Schecter Custom Solo II is an excellent choice. It combines tradition with modern features, offering a wide range of sounds and exceptional craftsmanship.
