Flawless Capoing with Unmatched Toughness

Since 1979, the Shubb Capo has been a favorite of guitarists for its signature over-center locking mechanism and quick lever action that allow for fast application and removal while maintaining incredibly accurate intonation. Moreover, Shubb Capos’ renowned toughness means you can chuck the C1G Capo Royale in a case or jam it in your pocket over and over without the fear of damaging it. And now it’s available in stunning gold- and rose-gold-toned titanium finishes.

Classic design in a brand-new shine

Notoriously delicate and expensive, gold is a less than ideal material for workhorse items like capos. However, that hasn’t stopped aesthetically minded guitarists from frequently asking Shubb to satisfy their gold fever. Answering the call, Shubb developed an innovative technique to give the Capo Royale Series its flawless gold-toned titanium finish, and Sweetwater is excited to offer this gorgeous riff on an industry classic that’s as durable as it is beautiful.

Shubb C1G Capo Royale Features:

  • Over-center locking mechanism maintains intonation, reducing or removing the need to retune
  • Rugged construction and durability can withstand years of frequent use
  • Quickly lock into place or remove with a single flick of the lever
  • Stunning gold-toned titanium finish adds a splash of class

Reviews

Best capo anywhere near this price range
I have owned numerous capos in the 45+ years I have been playing guitar. I have them for both steel string and classic (nylon string) instruments and, believe me, they are the absolute best in their respective price range. Unless you can shell out a couple hundred dollars for one of the "boutique" brands, these are your best option. They are easy to use, easy to adjust to your instrument, and generally do not require re-tuning if affixed properly. I have three of them and they all work and sound great. The timbre of my instruments seems unaffected when using them as compared to the "un-capoed" state. Very happy with these and I expect they will last a good long time -- might be the last capos I ever purchase since Shubb offers replacement parts for anything that can wear out. Great service from Sweetwater and Alex as well. Thanks!

Shubb C1G capo
I absolutely love this capo! Highly recommend! Ordered from Sweetwater and it got her very fast. It is very easy to use and eliminates the buzz I get at times from other capos which is annoying when finger picking. I have also gotten compliments on how sleek it looks.
Sweet Capo!
This dude is just a sweet piece. I was worried at the process of putting this type on my guitar. I've always had the other clamp type. But once you figure out the method on this one its a piece of cake. Plus you get much better even pressure from this type too.

Best Ever
OMG, if you use a capo on an acoustic guitar this is the one to have! I have used Dunlop, Keyser, G7th, etc.

This stays in place and tuning does too. Also, the gold tone looks fantastic. If you have guitars with a full length radius neck go with Shubb C1. The slim profile doesn't interfere with finger action.

This capo does the trick! Great sound...
I had a bit of a capo restructuring experience, when several capos I had started to fail and needed to be replaced. Also, a long-time Shubb capo disappeared. So, I went to Sweetwater's site and did a bit of browsing and saw this GOLD Shubb capo and ordered one (and a couple others....reviews at their sites). This capo works wonderfully. It is especially solid for recording and I have heard no buzzing or weird after-tones. I have read that is takes a couple seconds to put on, but those are worth it because this baby shines.

PS I liked this capo so much, I bought a second one.... MY only comment is that it sure would be nice to have a small bag to carry and protect the capo in the guitar case.
