A Capo with Rock-solid Intonation

The Shubb C1 Standard capo won't mess with your tuning or intonation, allowing for fast attachment between songs with no break in your musical flow. This capo’s patented over-center locking action ensures smooth operation and unrivaled ease of use. Its soft rubber pad works like a fingertip, while its closing action is engineered like your hand, so the capo doesn’t pull your guitar’s strings off center — no retuning necessary. Its innovative roller design ensures smooth action and reduced wear for long-term reliability. Small, stylish, and unobtrusive, the Shubb C1 is tailor-made for acoustic and electric steel-string guitars.

Engineered to work like the human hand

Most capos mess with your intonation — you have to retune your instrument every time you attach one. That’s because fingerboards are made for fingers, not capos. Thanks to Shubb, this is no longer a problem. Shubb capos employ a soft rubber pad that works like your fingertip. Consequently, they don’t forcefully bend your instrument’s strings over its frets. Likewise, the capo’s closing action is similar to that of your hand, so it doesn’t pull your strings off center. This eliminates the need to retune your instrument after installing the capo. What’s more, Shubb capos are a breeze to use — one flip of a lever locks it securely in place and removes it just as easily. Fast, easy installation and rock-solid intonation — what more could you ask for? Shubb capos have remained popular for nearly 40 years — many guitarists here at Sweetwater swear by them. Try one, and you’ll understand why.

Shubb's C1 model fits most steel-string acoustic and electric guitars.

Reviews

Best capo I've ever used.
This capo is built great, I've used 5 other capos in the past and they broke, this one hasn't yet. The 2 people that has pit 3 stars on this product are picky pieces of crap. Don't listen to them.

Perfect
Takes some adjusting if you are used to the old school squeeze-grippy capos, but the contact with the strings is perfect here. Will likely swap all mine out for this over time.
Amazing Performance Changing Capo!!
I got this capo around Easter and could not be happier. Before I got this capo I was using a Kyser clamp style capo and an old Hamilton cradle style capo. I used the Kyser for many years until I found out what it does to guitars. It was leaving marks and indentions on the back of my guitar neck and not that I noticed it that much, but it was leaving my strings out of tune.

I found my Grandpa's old Hamilton Capo tucked away in a box so I started using it. It was great I loved it! I barely had to put down any pressure and the strings would ring out, I felt safe using it on my guitar, it's tuning stability was great, it applied even pressure to all the strings, and I could store it behind the nut of my guitar! There was only two problems. The capo was so bulky that is hard to do crowded chords at the top of the capo like B7. And it took a little too long to change during church performances. The Shubb changed everything.

This capo combines 2 styles into one. You have the adjustability/tension control and tuning stability like a cradle capo, then you have the speed to place it like a clamp capo. I am still a cradle capo supporter and love using them(mainly because I think they are cool and apply more even string pressure), but I like using the Shubb especially for live performances.
Best Capo I've Owned
This capo, while not as convenient as the one handed spring clamp type, allows me to keep it handy on stage and use with any guitar thanks to the pressure adjustment. I suspect if it's bending after a while, you may be setting the tension too high. If your guitar is set up correctly, you shouldn't need to "choke" the neck with excessive pressure.

Without a Doubt The Best There Is
The Shubb C1 can't be beat, I have used dozens. Set it and forget it. My title of this review says it all.
