25 Watts of British All-tube Amplification Power

Victory Amplification’s The Sheriff 25 head delivers the same searing British-style tone as its renowned Sheriff predecessors in a lunchbox-sized package! This amp boasts 25 watts of all-tube tone, with a dual-channel design and sweeping sonic versatility. First up is the Vintage channel, which, as you might expect, provides vintage-style British grit and chime, packed with plenty of gain on tap. However, suppose the Vintage channel isn’t aggressive enough for you. In that case, the secondary Hot Rod channel supercharges The Sheriff 25 into a scorching '80s-inspired high-gain machine perfect for screaming lead tones. Finish it off with an exceptionally flexible EQ section, bypassable series effects loop, and dual-master volume design, and it all adds up to a mean little monster of an amp that’s equally comfortable on stage or in the bedroom studio.

Two footswitchable channels of classic British tone

The Sheriff 25 includes two channels, each with independent master volume controls. The Vintage channel delivers 1960s-era British tones, including blues-inflected cleans and a muscular hard rock crunch with supple, vintage-tinged mids; the Hot Rod channel transports you straight to the Sunset Strip with more gain, in-your-face midrange punch, and tight lows. You'll appreciate how easily The Sheriff 25 cleans up with a simple rolling back of your axe's volume knob.

Bypassable series effects loop

If you’re running a pedal-heavy rig, you’ll value The Sheriff 25’s high-quality series effects loop — a feature many vintage-style British-inspired amps lack. While it does an excellent job of keeping your time-based and modulation effects clean when driving the amp’s front end, the loop stays completely out of the circuit when bypassed, ensuring ultra-pure tone when you’re not using it. So, if you’re a plug-straight-into-the-amp player, you won’t be plagued by any unwanted tone suck.

Intuitive EQ and Bass Focus

The Sheriff 25 Head’s versatile tone-shaping controls allow for a seemingly endless assortment of sonic options. A 3-band EQ and a Presence control will surely be familiar to any vintage British amplifier aficionado. Still, the Sheriff 25’s rear-mounted Bass Focus switch offers an entirely new way to tweak your sound. Located in the amplifier's power section, Bass Focus tightens up your low end for a punchier tone when engaged while delivering a looser, more resonant feel when the control is off. When testing the Sheriff 25 out at Sweetwater, we found this control particularly useful for carving out studio-ready rhythm guitar tones — especially if you’re running an instrument with a formidable bass response.

Victory Amplification The Sheriff 25 Features:

  • The same roaring Sheriff tone as its big-box brethren, but in a compact, lunchbox-sized 25W head
  • Vintage channel delivers old-school British-style grit, crunch, and chime
  • Hot Rod channel kicks up the gain for ’80s-inspired saturated lead sounds and crushing rhythm tones
  • Easily switch between each channel with a 1-button footswitch
  • Each channel sports a dedicated Master Volume control to achieve screaming tube tones at a reasonable volume
  • Powerful tone-shaping controls include a 3-band EQ, Presence knob, and low-end-sculpting Bass Focus switch
  • Hard-bypassable series FX loop allows you to keep your time-based and modulation FX clean and defined
  • External bias test points allow you to bias the amp without tearing out the chassis
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!

Must have alongside your Marshall Plexi!
The Victory Sheriff 25 isn't just an amp; it's a time machine for classic British rock tones. From the chiming cleans of the '60s to the searing leads of the '80s, this 25-watt powerhouse delivers it all with authority and authenticity. The Vintage channel evokes the spirit of Hendrix and Page, while the Hot Rod channel unleashes a firestorm of high-gain fury.

This amp isn't just about power; it's about finesse. Its simplified design and clean effects loop make it a joy to use, while its two channels offer a universe of sonic possibilities. Whether you're chasing the bluesy warmth of a cranked Plexi or the molten roar of a modded Marshall, the Sheriff 25 delivers the goods. It's a testament to Victory's commitment to crafting amps that sound as good as they look, and it's sure to inspire countless hours of joyful playing. It is British handcrafted after all. This versatile machine can play cover the entire spectrum. Just make sure you have some killer humbuckers!

Thank you so much Rob Barraza for hooking me up. Rob is incredibly knowledgeable and when you talk to him you feel like you've known him for years. He will go above and beyond for you just like he has for me! Thanks Rob!

Impressive!
I have been playing this amp regularly for the past two weeks or so and have come away thoroughly impressed. I find it to be superior in capturing the essence of a certain British amp line along with great versatility. The Vintage channel goes from nice cleans to a very neat pushed sound great for vintage rock or blues. The Hot Rod channel has gain similar to a seventies master volume Marshall at about nine o'clock and morphs into more of an 80's modified tone. The bass focus switch on the back is very useful for tightening up heavier gain settings. The presence shift switch gives two modes of presence sweep. I tried a Spaceman Mercury IV, a Greer Moonshot (treble/mid booster) and a Origin Effects DCX Boost in front of the amp. All worked very well. I used a Universal Audio Golden Reverberator along with an Analogman ARDX20 in the effects loop. Both worked superbly (i like a little "air" in my sound). Other positives I noted were: I was able to achieve excellent tone at bedroom volumes if desired, works well with humbucker or single coil pickups, and comes with a nice gig bag. I currently own four high-end all tube "lunchbox" amps. This is my favorite.
Victory Sheriff 25 amp head
Pros: Lightweight, compact, great sounding, and loud enough for most of my gigs. I especially like the way you can configure the two master volumes to work together on either the vintage or modern channels. On the vintage channel I set the gain way up and then set master volume 1 to be loud enough so that I get good distortion when my guitar volume is turned up to 10. Then I set the master volume 2 much louder than master volume 1. When I want a clean sound I back off the volume on my guitar and switch to master volume 2. When I want a distorted sound I turn my guitar volume up to 10 and switch to master volume 1. Works great.

Cons: It would be nice if there were a 4 ohm tap.
