100 Watts of British All-tube Amplification Power

Victory Amplification’s VS100 Super Sheriff head delivers the same searing British-style tone as its renowned Sheriff predecessors, only with a massive increase in the wattage department! This amp boasts a whopping 100 watts of all-tube tone, with a dual-channel design and sweeping sonic versatility. First up is the Vintage channel, which, as you might expect, provides vintage-style British grit and chime, packed with plenty of gain on tap. However, suppose the Vintage channel isn’t mean enough for you. In that case, the secondary Hot Rod channel supercharges the VS100 into a scorching ‘80s-inspired high-gain machine perfect for screaming lead tones. Beyond that, a low-power 35-watt mode is available to reduce the volume for studio and home settings. Finish it with an exceptionally flexible EQ section, bypassable series effects loop, and dual-master volume design. The Super Sheriff is a loud, proud elevation of the classic British-style amplifier formula.

Two footswitchable channels of classic British tone

The Super Sheriff includes two channels, each with independent master volume controls. The Vintage channel delivers 1960s-era British tones, including blues-inflected cleans and a muscular hard rock crunch with supple, vintage-tinged mids; the Hot Rod channel transports you straight to the Sunset Strip with more gain, in-your-face midrange punch, and tight lows. You'll appreciate how easily the VS100 cleans up with a simple rolling back of your axe's volume knob.

Bypassable series effects loop

If you’re running a pedal-heavy rig, you’ll value the Super Sheriff’s high-quality series effects loop — a feature many vintage-style British-inspired amps lack. While it does an excellent job of keeping your time-based and modulation effects clean when driving the amp’s front end, the loop stays completely out of the circuit when bypassed, ensuring ultra-pure tone when you’re not using it. So, if you’re a plug-straight-into-the-amp player, you won’t be plagued by any unwanted tone suck.

Intuitive EQ and Depth Focus

The Super Sheriff 100’s versatile tone-shaping controls allow for a seemingly endless assortment of sonic options. A 3-band EQ and a Presence control will surely be familiar to any vintage British amplifier aficionado. Still, the Super Sherriff’s rear-mounted Depth Focus control offers an entirely new way to tweak your sound. Located in the amplifier's power section, Depth Focus tightens up your low end for a punchier tone when maxed out while delivering a looser, more resonant feel on the opposite end of the spectrum. When testing the Super Sheriff out at Sweetwater, we found this control particularly useful for carving out studio-ready rhythm guitar tones — especially if you’re running an instrument with a formidable bass response.

Victory Amplification: cutting-edge designs for modern players

Established in England in 2013, Victory Amplification has provided countless artists like James Bay, Richie Kotzen, Rabea Massaad, and Guthrie Govan with elite-quality amplifiers to bring out the best in their respective sounds. With a firm commitment to "simplicity in operation, flexibility in use, and absolutely no compromise in tone," Victory has pumped out a stream of groundbreaking and award-winning products, ranging from the V4 Sheriff Preamp Pedal to a plethora of artist-series amps and the almighty VX100 Super Kraken. Whatever sonic flavor you demand, there's a Victory amp that's up to the task.

Victory Amplification VS100 Super Sheriff Features:

  • 100W of all-tube, handwired British-style amplification power
  • Vintage channel delivers old-school British-style grit, crunch, and chime
  • Hot Rod channel kicks up the gain for '80s-inspired saturated lead sounds and crushing rhythm tones
  • Easily switch between each channel with a simple footswitch
  • Each channel sports a dedicated master volume control to achieve screaming tube tones at a reasonable volume
  • Powerful tone-shaping controls include a 3-band EQ, presence knob, and low-end-sculpting Depth Focus knob
  • Hard-bypassable series effects loop allows you to keep your time-based and modulation effects clean and defined
  • Low power mode reduces wattage to a modest 35W for reduced volume in home and recording applications
  • High-quality wooden sleeve cabinet is built to last
  • External bias test points allow you to bias the amp without tearing out the chassis
  • Includes slip cover to keep your head safe during storage and transport
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items

Reviews

Victory sheriff 100
I've left this review to write a year after I bought this amp - playing since 1983 - I'm a hard Marshall amp user especially the jubilee - I needed a little bit more versatility for the current music I'm doing so I bought this amp as I had heard it stems from that jubilee sound embryo-
This thing as floored me - I didn't expect it to be that good - it's solo sound absolutely kills a soldano slo 100 ( owner of 2) for that fluid liquids singing sustain - it's a Marshall's cousin in the riff dept - classic rock to metal - volume / headroom to spare — the only gripe I have is that they used 2 push button switches on back for depth and foot switch option and they should have used a hard metal switch like on the front panel - cos those push switches can get funky
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another victory product - as far as high gain rock amps go I prefer this to my wizards and bogners and soldano I've owned - and it's half this size - 10/10 - supernova product

Brit Tone Triumph
So, I have been through a lot of amps in my time. I have had or still have modded Plexi's and OG JCM800's. If that's the type of sound you're after welcome home because the Victory Sheriff 100 does it right 100%. Listen to the demos on YouTube where they clone classic tones. You really can dial those in without a ton of hassle. For example, within the first 10 minutes, I had a great Zeppelin tone on the Crunch side and then switched to the Hot Rod side for Appetite for Destruction tones and then turned it towards an Adam Jones type sound by cranking the hot rod channel. Very versatile with the Depth and Presence options and the EQ is very musical. The clean is actually pretty cool too. It's not that big Fender clean sound, it's the JTM45 type of clean that is best used with a bit of break up and your volume knob.
Also, I've been a long-time Mesa user and that's the type of quality you're looking at with the Victory stuff. Just a rock-solid build. Plus, I have another Victory and I can tell you they have awesome service. Also they come with good quality tubes etc.
Downsides?
1. You're stuck with one EQ and you will see the upper mids change as the gain goes up. So, you have to work to find a balance that works for you in a live situation. It's not that bad, but you may make a compromise the ideal for balance.
2. This is a 100+ watt amp and it will be loud (and awesomely so). However, it's not overpowering at rehearsal or shows but it could be a bit much in a bedroom situation. That said the lower power mode is usable, it reminds me of a variac setting on other amps. Which it's my understanding that is what it's doing, lowering plate voltage etc. vs switching to triode mode.
Other than that it's great very portable package that spits out some of the best British amp tones from of the last 50 years what's not to like.
