Score Ed Sheeran's Signature Looping Stockpile

The secret to Ed Sheeran's distinct looping prowess is no longer a secret. Sweetwater is proud to introduce you to the Sheeran Loopers Looper +, a dual-pedal workstation bottling the Grammy winner's looping arsenal within a gig-friendly, portable chassis. Separate pedal switches and a detailed LCD interface unlock four looping modes, combining with onboard gain control and dynamics modifications to supply endless creative loop experimentation. Plus, the Looper + pedal's versatile I/O allows easy integration into nearly any instrument setup and performance environment. Heading to the stage? No problem: a separate combination microphone input makes easy work of dual-input performances. Prefer to use the Looper + in a studio environment instead? Utilize the built-in USB connectivity and stereo output for professional-sounding results. No matter where your musical excursions take you, the Looper + ensures you can summon the shape of Ed Sheeran-inspired looping at all times.

Four constructive looping modes

The two die-cast aluminum pedals headlining the Looper + pedal's front panel offer immediate access to four distinct looping modes, matching the versatility and command Ed requires onstage and in the studio. Single mode provides standard looper control, utilizing a single track with unlimited space for overdubbing. Multi mode supplies two separate tracks with locked lengths, while Sync and Song modes handle dual tracks with compatible and independent lengths, respectively. Combined with the ability to save and recall recorded tracks, arranging the perfect looping foundation has never been easier.

Dive into Ed Sheeran's deep sound dynamics

Given a multicolor display, an onboard menu navigation wheel, and gain controls on its front panel, the Looper + harbors much more than the average looper pedal. Solo and mute performance modes, overdubbing, undo/redo, and storage options can easily be accessed during play for on-the-spot track alterations. Apart from arranging and managing loop tracks, the Looper + supplies fading, reverse, and speed parameters for additional creative control. With these functions at hand, you'll always be seconds away from channeling the defining looping dynamics for which Ed is known.

Multiple avenues of rig connectivity

A peek at the Looper + pedal's back panel reveals an extensive connection interface containing a combination XLR/1/4-inch instrument input, a stereo instrument input, and stereo output for simple plug-and-play operation. However, the Looper + doesn't stop there, given you have the extra equipment on standby, an external footswitch input, 5-pin MIDI connectivity, and onboard USB connectivity offer extended access to exclusive secondary parameter controls, the ability to import and export recorded loop tracks, and much more. Whether you're rocking a full-scale studio setup or a bare-bones recording rig, the Looper + will fit right in.

Reviews

My new #1 looper! Here’s why:
This Sheeran Loopr+ is my 4th looper over the past 10 years or so, and it has every feature I need without a bunch of confusing features and "bells & whistles" I don't need. I started with the minimal looper in the PlayAcoustic and knew right away it was at best a rehearsal tool. (Actually also had the little phrase sampler in my GR55 too.) My first actual looper pedal was the DigiTech JamMan Stereo. I love it and still have it. Built like a tank! I began to build a second pedal board a couple years ago and since the JamMan was discontinued, I got the Boss RC500, and it took me forever to get it set for my needs. Way too many menu levels and toys like drums. I recently got caught in an unexpected rain at a gig and the RC500 got a little wet and went haywire, switching between settings, playing drums etc. So I went shopping at Sweetwater for another looper. The biggest selling points for me included the large switches, easy to read screen and controls, heavy duty build and most importantly I chose it because it has a mic channel with XLR in. (The same reason I had the JamMan and RC500. I run the XLR out from my PlayAcoustic into the mic channel. I don't loop vocals). I've gigged with the Sheeran for about a month and have found it easy to configure, easy to set gain and main out and super easy to use live. Like the JamMan, it has a good mic input with plenty of headroom and I run it at about 50%. The RC500 has to have the mic input at 100% to work. I like running rec/play/dub and it switches easily between that and rec/dub/play. The colors and status for each mode or very easy to see. The balance between your recorded loop and your live guitar is perfect for me and I didn't have to go thru deep menus to set it. The inputs for instrument and mic in each have their own gain/volume knob and input meter. The main out has a control and meter as well. And, if you want to use them for a modeler or line out from an amp you do have stereo-mono L and R 1/4" ins and outs. The 1/4 outs are balanced and the mic input goes to both sides. The two pedals are huge and hard to miss and I've had very few mistakes with timing. I'm currently using it in the simplest way, as a single channel looper, but if the two channel options are as easy to set up, I may venture into using them… I could never get 2 channel operation on the RC500 to work for me.
BTW my RC500 dried out and came back to life! So I have 3 working loopers to choose from. If I was more into using and understanding all the cool stuff the BOSS can do, so I still think it could be a great choice for some users. But if simplicity is important to you, I can highly recommend the Sheeran Looper+.
Music background: Full time self employed musician gigging 5-8 times a week, primarily as a solo acoustic guitar/vocal entertainer. Have also had a band, where I played electric guitar as well as acoustic.
The looper I needed!
The Sheeran looper pedal is a fantastic product. I am a solo player and this is the perfect looper for what I'm doing. Easy to use and reliable for timing. Control with levels and routing is a breeze! I only really use it to lay rhythms down to solo over. Occasionally I'll overdub.
Bottom line, this new looper pedal is a must for anyone who uses looping and relies on their equipment to respond effectively and consistently every time for a living.
It's fantastic! Thanks Ed Sheeran and development team!

Nice Sheeran Looper+ Unit
I really like this looper for its simplicity, sturdiness, and absolutely the best feeling foot switches of any looper (or any effect pedal for that matter) I have ever used. I just wanted a simple, bulletproof looper (after getting tired of the deep menus and small switches on the Boss RC-500, and other issues noted below) that I can loop and layer precisely without worrying about missing a foot tap. The big pedal switches are precise and really good feeling under foot or by hand.
The 2 channels are nice to have, especially if you are using the XLR and a mic, but I rarely if ever need the second channel. It is a little wider and a heavy mofo at 4 lbs. (compared to the Boss RC-500 and others at 2 lbs or less) but it is so perfect for my use that I put up with the size and weight. I have removed the thick rubber feet and mounted it in my pedalboard, but the weight and the thick rubber feet could be a bonus if it is being used separately on the floor.
Volume controls work fine for me so far. The meters are okay though the flashing ring light on the left gets annoying (even when the unit is on but not in use it still strobes and not in time to your tempo). It does not have a true bypass as it has to be turned on in your effects chain, and the instrument volume setting affects your entire pedalboard volume.
I use it for my bass set-up with a Stomp XL, volume pedal, and Ampeg SGT-DI to Ampeg Venture amp and speakers ... and it is absolutely silent and does not degrade the overall sound to the amp, ... unlike the RC-500 which seemed to slightly degrade the liveliness of my basses for some reason and introduced a whining high pitched sound to the amp on playback which drove me absolutely crazy and forced me to look for this new Sheeran looper. I do occasionally miss the RC 500 rhythm and tempo capabilities, but I now use the SBL (on-line bass course) bass track rhythm and tempo tool which is easier to use for practicing.

User-friendly
I have only dabbled with loopers in the past, but needed one to add some layers to my weekly sets. This looper is super user friendly, and I was creating loops I was happy with 5 minutes after setup.
Highly recommend.
Just got it and still having my mind blown !!!
This thing is a WORK HORSE!!! I play A LOT of shows and need reliable and sturdy equipment!!! THIS IS IT!!! and the fact that it was built in collaboration with a Musicians shows!! This thing is such an improvement compared to all the other loopers on the market at the moment. I dont know what the low scores or how this thing is lacking features. Im still trying to figure everything out. Outside of the basic looping which btw open up, plug it in and GOOOOO! This thing is easy and more intuitive than any loop station on the market. The actuators pedals are perfect and just 'feel right' I have an extra expansion pedal but right now Im just enjoying the basics. I'll update after I've had it a few months
