Reviews

Great USB interface
Upgrading from a USB mic to an XLR, this is a great product to switch to. The setup is plug-and-play after a software install that happens automatically. the controls are simple and easy to navigate. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a value-oriented XLR setup.

My first audio inteface.
I stream video games. At the beginning of the year, I had decided to up my audio hardware, so I had purchased a mixer and a new condenser microphone. Sadly, the mixer (despite having and XLR and 48v of phantom power) did not work well with my condenser microphone. There was outputting huge sensitivity with clipping and distortion as well as a low static noise. Of course, I was beginning to become frustrated with my purchase so I started to see what I can do to fix the problem. I tried in-line attenuators and started looking around to see if anyone else was having the same issues and came to conclusion that the mixer just had a big problem with microphones.

Now I was coming to peace with my bad purchase, so I decided "What the hell let's try something else." Luckily this March of 2024 there was a nice sale on microphones and audio interfaces on Sweetwater, so I started doing some homework on audio interfaces. Came across the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Generation and jumped on it. I got to say it's super easy to set up with direct links to drivers from the get-go and a bundle of eq effects as well as a free copy of Ableton Lite. I really love how my condenser microphone sounds on it especially with the added eq effects I can use through Open Broadcast Software. No more clipping and no more distortion/white noise.

If I only had one issue with this interface is that the upgraded edition the Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen has more features such as auto anti clipping functions. I may upgrade in the future but for what I do at the moment the 4th gen solo is all I need.
Awesome
Works beautifully. Smoothly integrated w/ my lap top. Sounds great. Came with some apps that were great starting points. Easy to figure out. Start up guide made it easy to figure out. Googled a few tips and was up and running in no time.

short and sweet and helpful
I have such a little mixer; thought I would be dismissed when I asked for a tutorial. Barry treated me with respect, and introduced me to the unit in a most helpful way.
Focusrite is easy
Easy to hook up and use. Makes recording a breeze.

If you're like a lot of the recording engineers here at Sweetwater, then you probably grew up with stories of the legendary Focusrite Forte console and its ISA preamps. Our relationship with Focusrite is extremely tight, and we regularly enjoy everything from the inside scoop on new gear to fish and chips when they stop by Sweetwater. While Focusrite still produces the classic analog preamps, EQs, and compressors we love, our Sales Engineers are just as excited to introduce our customers to their remarkable RedNet network audio platform, and we have worked with Focusrite to outfit studios, churches, venues, and schools with this awesome technology in action. From everyday audio interfaces to full system designs, if you want Focusrite gear, Sweetwater has you covered.
