Classic Soldano Sound — Upgraded with Channel-specific Controls

Boasting the same iconic Soldano tone as the original module, the Synergy Soldano SLO II ups the ante with a whole host of channel-specific sound-shaping tools. From the addition of a secondary 3-band EQ to Crunch/Overdrive and Normal/Tight switches, the Synergy Soldano SLO II’s versatility remains almost unparalleled within the world of Soldano-style amplifiers. And just like the original module, the SLO II is no mere clone or emulation — this tube-driven preamp module was designed by the one and only Mike Soldano to perfectly capture the thick, clear, and remarkably responsive sizzle made famous by guitarists ranging from Eric Clapton to Warren DeMartini to Warren Haynes. All in all, the Synergy Soldano SLO II is a feature-packed upgrade to an all-time Synergy preamp module classic and a must-have addition to any gain-obsessed guitarist’s Synergy rig.

What’s new for the SLO II?

The Synergy SLO II introduces a trio of channel-specific tone-shaping tools into the mix, along with the same searing Soldano sound that made the original V1 iteration one of Synergy’s most sought-after modules.

  • Independent EQs: While the original Soldano SLO II module featured a global 3-band EQ, the V2 version sweetens the deal with channel-specific Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs — a game changer for guitarists who regularly swap between two disparate tones.
  • Crunch/Overdrive Switch: V2 also introduces per-channel Crunch/Overdrive switches inspired by the original SLO-100 amplifier. Whether you’re after two screaming crunch channels to stomp between, dual overdrive options, or instant switching between each voice, these switches optimize the Soldano SLO II module’s 2-channel design with maximum sonic flexibility.
  • Normal/Tight Switch: Finally, the addition of channel-specific Normal/Tight switches allows you to switch between classic Soldano aggression (Normal) and an ultra-articulate Tight voice purpose-built for modern gain-drenched destruction.

Synergy Amplification: a tube-fueled alliance

Merriam-Webster defines synergy as "a mutually advantageous conjunction or compatibility of distinct business participants." With Synergy Amplification's assemblage of tube-amp talents such as Dave Friedman (Friedman), Joe Morgan (Morgan), Steven Fryette (Fryette and VHT), Mike Soldano (Soldano), and Peter Diezel (Diezel), the name is a perfect fit. Each product is painstakingly crafted by these titans of the tube-amp world, ensuring every nuance of their legendary amplifiers is translated to your tone. For the most iconic tones in the most convenient package possible, Sweetwater is proud to offer you Synergy Amplification.

Synergy Soldano SLO II Features:

  • Tube-powered 2-channel preamp module, designed by Mike Soldano
  • Designed for Synergy’s modular system of preamp docks
  • Perfectly captures the thick, articulate sizzle of a Soldano SLO-100
  • V2 introduces per-channel 3-band EQs, Crunch/Overdrive switches, and Normal/Tight switches
  • Packed with 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes to provide a complex, harmonic-rich array of tones, with an exceptional touch-sensitive response
  • PCB-mounted Cathode Select switch gives you a trio of different options that impact the feel and response of the circuit

Reviews

Massive Tube Tone!
This was my first module, I have four now (incl T/Dlux, Vai, Friedman BBBE). This was module that stayed in the Syn2 (also have the T/Dlux for cleans) I've never owned a Soldano before so I cant attest to how much it feels the same. But man, it sounds and feels sooo good!. Ive had tube amps for decades and this is no different, punch, warmth, air 100% legit tube tone. I love that this module has two of the same channels, one I have setup as crunch and one as lead. The module doesn't really do any proper cleans, so that is where the T/Dlux compliments this unit so well.

Amazing
Exceptional sound and versatility. I have the Slo 2 purple module. Can't say enough great things about it.
Music background: Forever
having tried some new modules, I return to this one as my fav of all time
The SLO II is just amazing. I am using it w different gain lvls and the response and ability to just react to overdrives is just marvelous. Killer tones of varying dist levels. Modified Marshall bliss. I use several drives and each of them impart a sonic change to the SLO II and stacking them further adds more dimension and variance to the tones. I have always been a fan of the tones Tipton and Downing got in super heavy Judas Priests guitars, seems to have been a Soldano Marshall as this module just flies. With different drives you can get that more lead tone thing they get during solos I always wondered how they did that. SLO II boys and girls, if you want just a rich full Marshall that responds and has an array of tones (not clean). I've been using the cathode switch on 1 lately after seeing a frequency analysis comparison of all 3. 1 has more low end and resonance as well as nice slight mid bump and high end response. I've had like 8 modules and am currently rebuilding my Synergy rig and this SLO II is the hands down winner for me so far.
one of the best modules
not much of a clean capability on this one but some glorious gain tones
What difference?
I have a Soldano SLO 30 that is going up for sale now that I have the SLO II module. That should sufficiently explain how close the module is to the real thing. Synergy is saving my marriage by reducing gear space and cost.
