Plenty of gain on tap but what's also great is the ability to roll back on the volume either with a volume pedal or the guitar to clean it up a lot. No other amp cleans up as well as the pitbull does in my experience. It's very articulate and punchy. The only minor criticism is the adjustable eq it's a bit tricky but once you find the sweet spot it's a set and forget thing. Love the tones I am getting out of this. I've tried it into a bogner and into my Mesa boogie roadking. The original amp came with el34 but being able to try it with 6L6 is a great sound as well. Both channels have a bit of different flavour and you can set both with eq or one or the other with eq. The only other module I have so far is the slo and I am very pleased with both of these. The tones I am achieving so far is apc type tones. To me it nails this very well. I don't think you'd be disappointed in the pitbull if you're looking for something a bit different in your amp arsenal. I'd say it sits more in the mid range of frequencies but tight and articulate.

I was looking for something of a super Marshall sound. British in flavor with nice high gain saturation and the right bass response. Other British sounds can be too tight and focused. But this thing is it! It's highly versatile and achieves that Stone Temple Pilots Demeter sound easily. Fryette is amazing and has made a dream come true for me in this module.

Got this module w the Bogner Ecstasy module and my god, I just cannot express how great they sound. This is a killer module, Fryette has created am amazing rendering of the Pitbull and yes indeed, Ultra Lead is no misspoken adjective! I love this module and my Bogner Ecstasy is amazing as well. Synergy is just the best thing to happen to guitar!
