I have owned most of the high gain modules and when the SLO II came out, I knew it was going to be my go-to tone for chugs and leads. But I was looking for a clean and crunch tone that would pair well with it. Tried the IICP- clean was great, but didn't like the graphic eq or shared eq. Then tried the TDLX But it's crunch was - nope!!! Started researching the Kali and completed my rig!! It pairs perfectly with the SLO II I use it for the clean tones and an alternate beefy chug tone. I would describe my sound as the SLO sings, the Kali kicks and screams!! In fact, I have 2 Syn2's and both have a Kali and an SLO. One for studio/backup and one in a rack for gigging. I have 'my' sound and Synergy makes it affordable and dependable. I won't go back to something that doesn't have 12ax7's!!

A very versatile module. Each switch really makes a difference. The tones are awesome and the clarity it brings me is just what I needed especially for my 9 string baritone guitar and 8 string baritone guitar. It bares a monstrous feel and sound.

I got my Fortin Killer Kali (FKK) module as part of a bundle purchase with the SYN-20IR head. I have EVH, Fender, Friedman and Vai/Carvin amps already. The FKK module is EXTREMELY flexible. I can go from the SYN's clean channel to any form of Rock on the FKK: hard rock, blues rock, alt-rock, metal, thrash, and neo-metal. The switches enable a WIDE array of tones and sound-types. If you don't have one - get one. Check them out on YouTube and see what your missing. Highly recommended!

Really good clean channel possibilities and a bunch of very cool high gain tones. Heavy defined low end and versatile tone adjustments. Killer. Synergy is it boys and girls, pick the right modules and you're in tone heaven. Easy dial in a few switches no more last down the rabbit hole of infinite params and tweaking. I love the idea and notion of modeling but try as I did everything ran pale w me after a bit. UAFX I thought were the easier amp modelers and great tones, the big multi units drove me batty after a while and was never happy with the sound. You get your amp in those multi units and then add like a dozen blocks trying to get enough tones and enhance the amp model. After awhile I just want to play and not tweak for hours hunched over the unit on a table trying to get the sound to suit. Fire up the Synergy and bang, instant tone. Step up to Synergy and get every major cool amp in high voltage glorious analog tubes!

I've had this module for a few months now, I liked it at first but it didn't edge out the SLO module in my amp. After putting it away for a while and coming back to it (as well as finally understanding how to use the preamp volumes and bright switches), I finally understand how amazing this preamp sounds. It can do the hot-rodded Marshall thing, the vintage Marshall thing, the SLO thing, and all kinds of other sounds! All the switches and knobs make it super versatile, and if you're looking for high gain heavy metal, it does that as well! It has an extremely satisfying chunk and fidelity that makes it hard to stop playing, I highly recommend this preamp!
