The Perfect Blend of Tradition and Innovation

Boasting a full-body silhouette with traditional contours, the Yamaha Silent Series SVC-110SK is ideal for players seeking the feel and posture of an acoustic instrument in a lightweight electric cello. It blends a chambered body with cutting-edge electronics to produce a resonant acoustic tone, giving you complete control over your volume, enabling everything from silent practice to stage-ready amplification. Playing the SVC-110SK is an absolute delight, thanks to its natural contact points, meticulously sculpted maple neck, and sleek ebony fingerboard. Its piezo pickup and studio-quality preamp deliver an impressively natural sound. Additionally, the onboard reverb simulates an acoustic environment with three room sizes, and it features an auxiliary input and line and headphone outputs. To top it off, geared tuning pegs and a Wittner Ultra tailpiece with per-string fine tuners ensure precise intonation. Whether you're practicing in silence or performing center stage, the SVC-110SK offers an uncompromising cello experience that’s as expressive as it is innovative.

Play silently with full-bodied tone

At Sweetwater, we understand that silent practice often comes with a compromise in tone. Enter the Silent Series SVC-110SK. With this electric cello, you can plug in your headphones to experience studio-quality sound, thanks to Yamaha's piezo pickup and preamp system. The body resonating chamber, featuring a narrow aperture beneath the top board, enhances this full-bodied, nuanced, and natural tone. This rich, simulated concert hall acoustic environment is achieved without the need for external signal processing. A proprietary Yamaha chip provides warm and natural reverb in three settings: Room, Medium Hall, and Large Hall.

Practice, play along, and perform

Among its enticing features, the Yamaha Silent Series SVC-110SK includes an auxiliary input and line and headphone outputs. To play along with your favorite music, connect an external source to the aux input. For live performances, connect the line output to an external sound system. Additionally, the headphone jack allows for private practice with lush reverb.

Great live acoustic sound with no feedback

Another benefit of the Silent Series SVC-110SK is its impact on live performances. With onboard reverb effects, you can deliver the same miked-up cello sound to your audience that you hear during practice. Additionally, the absence of a large acoustic body eliminates feedback issues from loud stage volumes. This allows you to play confidently anywhere onstage, knowing your audience hears precisely what you hear.

Reviews

Thank you Eric Mathews for your help.
The cello is great. Much thanks to all staff at Sweetwater. Great service.
Awesome cello
Received this as a gift. I'm a long-time classical cellist - I wasn't sure what to expect. It's really amazing quality. Feels like a 4/4 Strad model in overall feel. I play a 7/8 Montagnana shaped instrument - it takes me a few minutes to adjust and then I'm off. Really fun, incredible sound. On board amp is great for headphone playing, easily can add audio from my phone to play "with" music, which makes it fun to play pop music with tracks or to work on classical works with accompaniment. Also great to travel with this vs my actual cello - this is much smaller and less expensive and not as delicate with heat/humidity. If you aren't string player already I do think set up would be a little confusing, but it's easily done if you have a detailed how-to video or if you're a string player.
