Pearl EvenPly-Six 5.4mm shells anchor the Session Studio Select series. These hybrid shells are created leveraging proprietary SST high-temperature hydraulic curing method, which begins with hand-selected premium birch and African mahogany. After milling each ply and bonding them with trademark overlapping scarf joints and Pearl’s exclusive AcoustiGlue, the shells are then subjected to 1,000 psi of hydraulic pressure at very high temperatures. Completed by a unique 60-degree bearing edge, the resulting tone is dark and complex. One listen, and you’ll immediately understand where the “studio” in “Session Studio Select” comes from — these drums are practically pre-EQ’d!

Each Session Studio Select kit comes with some of the best hardware that Pearl has to offer. The 4-point OptiMount Suspension System ensures that every tom resonates to its full potential. Pearl's 2.3mmm triple-flanged Super Hoop II drum hoops work in tandem with RL10 lugs to keep your toms' tuning locked in place, while RL20 lugs and D054 die-cast claw hooks do the same for your kick.
