This Snare Is a Solid Choice
Featuring a 1/4-inch single-ply hardwood shell that’s shaped utilizing a historic steam bending process, the Noble & Cooley Solid Shell snare drum is novel in both production and sound. Its single-ply shell resonates more freely than multi-ply shell drums, especially when complemented by Noble & Cooley’s patented Nodal Point lug mounting system, which places lugs at the nodal point of each shell’s natural wavelength. This ensures that each drum’s fundamental frequency is not hampered by its hardware. Additionally, the Solid Shell snare drum features Noble & Cooley’s symmetrical venting system, which enables enhanced airflow compared to typical drums with only one venting hole. This also adds a unique element to the drum’s sound, in addition to making it feel very satisfying to play. Finally, Noble & Cooley’s patented cam action snare wires can be cranked to higher tensions without choking the bottom drumhead, thus enabling you to play with higher snare tensions without ruining your snare drum’s sound.

Feel free to vent
Noble & Cooley don’t just sound different than other drums — they feel different, too. This is mainly due to their symmetrical venting system. Instead of a single venting hole that most drum manufacturers favor, Noble & Cooley employs multiple methodically placed symmetrical vent holes. You'll quickly discover the distinctive airflow design of each Noble & Cooley drum enhances your playing experience.

A rather noble snare system
With some snare drums, cranking the snare tension can tend to choke the bottom head and thereby stifle the drum's true tone. Noble & Cooley’s patented cam action snare wires offer an attractive alternative, allowing you to play at higher tensions and tunings without deadening your drum’s overall sound.
Famous Nodal Point technology
Arguably, Noble & Cooley’s most notable innovation, Nodal Point technology, places each lug at the node of each shell’s natural wavelength. This ensures that each shell's fundamental is not hindered by its hardware, thus enabling each drum to generate maximum tonal character.
