Next-generation Digital Mixing

Based on Allen & Heath’s acclaimed XCVI 96kHz FPGA audio engine, the SQ-6 digital mixer delivers extensive live sound mixing capabilities. Even with its powerful processing, the SQ-6 delivers best-in-class audio quality with less than 0.7ms of latency. You’ll have a lot of flexibility when it comes to creating monitor mixes, with up to 12 stereo mixes (groups or auxiliaries), in addition to the main LR out. Eight stereo FX engines provide studio-quality effects with dedicated returns. Complete with a 32 x 32 USB audio interface and dedicated controls for mixing convenience, the Allen & Heath SQ-6 is a smart mixing solution for live music, worship sound, and educational facilities.

Capable mixer that’s ready to expand

Right out of the box, the SQ-6 digital mixer offers 48 input channels. You have 25 faders for hands-on mixing, arranged in six fader layers for managing larger mixes. The SQ-6 also offers an SLink port for remote audio and expansion. And a 64-channel I/O port is ready for network audio integration.

Manage large mixes easily with automatic mic mixing

When you’re mixing a multi-mic setup, you’ll find the SQ-6’s automatic mic mixing capabilities to be a huge help. It’s also a fantastic safety net when relying on inexperienced volunteers to manage the sound system. With automatic mic mixing, you can be sure that you’ll never experience an excessive imbalance between mic levels in large multi-mic applications.

Built-in audio interface and comprehensive I/O

Multitrack recording is made simple with the Allen & Heath SQ-6, with its built-in 32 x 32 USB audio interface. Engineers at Sweetwater also appreciate the convenience of direct recording to a USB drive. A 64-channel I/O port is also present for connecting to network audio, and an SLink port allows for remote audio and I/O expansion.

SQ Apps for engineers and performers

Allen & Heath offers two free apps that will take your SQ6 experience to a new level of flexibility. For engineers, the SQ MixPad app (iOS/Android/macOS/Windows) gives you remote access to all main mixing functions, and offers offline editing for show prep. For performers, the SQ4You personal mixing app allows up to eight performers to craft their own monitor mixers from their iOS or Android devices to suit their personal preferences, so the engineer can focus on their main mix.

I Freaking LOVE This Thing!!
I'm not going to exaggerate, been drumming for 42 years and always set up at many gigs, plugged the mics in, and let the sound guy do his thing and all I had to do was play. The past few years I've been getting into live sound and recording as a hobby. Had a Ui24R for a while in my studio/practice space and thought it sounded great. Thought it recorded great and it does, But. I started having issues with the Ui24R preamps and decided to upgrade. Sweetwater had a great deal on an open box SQ6 and I just had to jump on it! I was hoping for a noticeable improvement over the Ui but WOW, it was leaps and bounds better! I wasn't expecting that big of a difference. For someone just getting into a pro board like this, it was a bit of a learning curve, but there's a lot of good resources out there. I practice with 13 mics on just drums and record with 15. As soon as I was trying to get the gains set and before I even had a chance to tackle any EQ or compression, gating, etc, I was suddenly hearing how OFF the drum tuning was!! Didn't hear these undesirable nuances at all in the tuning with the Ui! And lo and behold there was this awful buzz when hitting the 10" tom. Figured out it was a metal 90 degree connector on that drums mic that was rattling. That's how clear this board's sound is!! So silly me thought this SQ6 is as good as it gets and boy was it good, then I bought an A&H DX168 stagebox because I heard the mic preamps were better. I can confirm that a DX168 does improve the sound that much more. This was all a HUGE upgrade to my sound and I had no idea my custom built drum set could sound this good. And it's so good that it's forcing me to tune better, Ha ha. Sorry I can't comment on how efficient the workflow is out on tour or any of that touring musician stuff, but it's definitely a high quality piece, and records EXCELLENT. I still have so much to learn on this thing. If you don't get a flight case for it, make sure you get the dust cover to protect those faders!

It's been a dream to work with.
Coming from an Allen & Heath iLive system, the SQ has been a terrific upgrade. The multi-track playback feels like witchcraft and I hope I never take it for granted.

Wonderful board!
The Allen & Heath SQ6 is an amazing piece of equipment. I had used both the SQ and Qu series before and was looking forward to owning one. The pro-level routing features alone are worth the price. I have also been recording multitrack from the built-in USB output. Preamps are clean and sweet-sounding. In addition to a great live board, the SQ will become the centerpiece of my studio. Michael Duncan at Sweetwater got it out the door for me pronto, and FedEx delivered it on a Sunday! Was up and running in a day or so. Thanks, Sweetwater!
