You Can't Put a Price on Peace of Mind

Don't trust the life of your mics or the quality of your sessions to a saggy mic stand. Instead, invest in the On-Stage Hex-Base Studio Stand and make your mic positioning bombproof. This dainty tank makes a great solution for stereo room mics, drum overheads, choirs, and orchestras. Its 17-pound, low-profile base rests on an internal air suspension system for low noise and unwavering stability. Yet at just 18" wide, it slips into the tightest corners and closets.

An investment that gives back

A heavy-duty mic stand is a lot like room treatment — it's not often at the top of our list of gear priorities, but dollar for dollar, it's about one of the best investments you can make. The On-Stage Hex-Base Studio Stand stays put where you plant it. And its tall height is useful for exploring the sonics of your recording space.

On-Stage Stands Hex-Base Studio Microphone Stand Features:

  • Tall, tip-proof mic stand
  • 17-pound base stays where you plant it
  • Internal air suspension system isolates mics from floor noise and foot traffic
  • Perfect for recording drums, choirs, orchestras, and vocals
  • Tough enough for your heavy tube condensers
  • Compact enough for the tightest corners

Reviews

Awesome, giant stand
This is our second of these stands. They are overkill for "normal" use, but that's what I like in particular. We use both of them for the pianist. One at the grand piano, and the new one at the 88-key workstation. Both have to reach her from the side, so obviously at the grand, there's no other choice, and at the workstation, it works best coming from the side there as well, so this not only reaches without sinking or using weights, but it keeps others from "borrowing" it because it's so heavy. I'd replace all of our mic stands with these if I had the budget for it. Normal stands just can't take the punishment of church musicians. Highly recommend these.
Heavy Stand
I have a lot of mic stands that are great for your basic needs, SM57, SM 58 etc. However when I got a large condensor mic, Rode NT1-A, the mic was too heavy for a standard round base or even a tripod stand. Tipped over and chipped one of my guitars! I ordered this stand. It's heave and won't tip and is perfect for heavier mics. I have a small studio and didn't want something huge or too expensive and this fit the bill perfectly.
GREAT product for the price.
I originally bought 2 of these to use for my heavy Royer ribbon mics I use for overheads on drums. I was happily surprised at the girth of the metal in this stand. Also the base is very compact and heavy and keeps everything in place well. I just bought one more of these to use with heavier condender mic in vocal booth. You won't do better for this price. These are pretty solid.

Bought this for solid base. Wanted to eliminate potential vibration from a desk mount. Super solid throughout.
