Rock Your World with a Gretsch Streamliner

The G2622 Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut is here to make all of your Gretsch dreams come true without the burden of a pro price tag. This impeccably designed guitar packs in classic Gretsch appointments, a warm and resonant 16-inch-wide semi-hollow body, and a V-Stoptail that culminate in an endlessly playable instrument. Its body flaunts a laminated maple top, back, and sides for warm and bright natural tone. In addition, the nato neck and laurel fingerboard with soft C neck shape and 12-inch radius set you up for exceptional playing comfort every time you pick this 6-string up to play. Rounded out with a pair of bold and well-balanced Broad’Tron BT-3S humbucking pickups that can be coil-split by pulling the volume control, the versatile G2622 Streamliner is ready to record, jam, and take to every stage with confidence!

5-ply maple body offers excellent definition

Maple is one of the most lively, bright, and colorful tonewoods out there, which is exactly why Gretsch decided to make their G2622 Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut almost entirely out of this wonderful wood. This semi-hollowbody’s 5-ply arched laminated body offers a full 16-inch width and yields a wonderfully snappy, open tone that, when combined with the balanced character of its Broad’Tron BT-3S pickups, cuts through a dense mix and sounds great in any situation.

Feedback-free hollowbody tone

You get a lot of tonal bang for your buck with the G2622 Streamliner, thanks to its long center block. Running the full length of the body, the center block allows the otherwise hollow body to resist resonant-frequency feedback. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that this weight-relieved center block lets us rock out louder, with more gain, without our amplifier squealing out of control.

Exceptional sonic flexibility

Pick up the G2622 Streamliner, and you'll quickly realize you can pull off some tonal tricks you may have figured weren’t within this 6-string's grasp. With a volume control for each pickup, you can create the perfect balance between warmth, bite, and brilliance when both pickups are engaged. The master tone control lets you fine-tune your sound once you’ve got the pickups dialed in. Use the master volume control to take your tube amp from clean to growling without changing the balance between your pickups. Or, simply pull up to enable single-coil tone tapping for even greater sonic range!

Gretsch G2622 Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut Features:

  • Semi-hollowbody electric guitar with classic Gretsch styling
  • 5-ply, 16-in.-wide maple body delivers an incredibly snappy, open tone
  • Broad’Tron BT-3S humbuckers balance out your tone beautifully
  • Weight-relieved center block yields feedback-free hollowbody tone

  • 3 volume controls and 1 tone control create exceptional sonic flexibility

Reviews

Nice guitar after set-up
I was looking for a semi-hollow guitar and was considering an Epiphone or Gretsch.. I decided on the G2622 in Midnight Sapphire. I thought the Midnight Sapphire would have a blue cast to it, but it is more of a green. Maybe I should have bought the same model in Cadillac Green and saved some money. I had to adjust the truss rod to take a slight bow out of the neck. I replaced the strings with flat wounds and adjusted the string height. Now it plays really well. All in all, it is a good guitar to be used in my studio. I didn't care for the coil split on the master volume. It cut the volume by more than half, so the volume knob has to be adjusted to make up the volume drop. I am not using it to play live, so there is no problem with the coil split. The Sweetwater crew kept me informed of the progress of the order and sent professional photos of my guitar. I have been buying from Sweetwater for years because of their prices, free shipping and excellent Customer Service.
