Unlimited Performance, Four Decks of Control

Denon’s SC Live series of DJ controllers masterfully blend a club-ready, all-in-one unit with a powerful suite of connectivity and performance tools to deliver a bona fide DJ device that is fully capable of autonomous operation, thanks to the Engine DJ OS. Highly responsive, 6-inch jog wheels are accompanied by 16 versatile performance pads and a host of effects, letting you craft and weave tracks across four decks for an uncompromising aural array. Intuitive workflow features include Wi-Fi connectivity and a vivid, 7-inch multi-gesture touchscreen, visualizing waveforms and information in real time. The SC Live controllers feature a specially designed chipset to seamlessly incorporate reliable access to hundreds of millions of high-fidelity, and lossless tracks, alongside thousands of playlists from your favorite DJs, curators, and creators — stream it all directly from Apple Music, Tidal, Beatport, Beatsource, SoundCloud Go+, or Amazon Music. Accommodating interoperative opportunities let you seamlessly move between laptop-free and Computer Mode with 1:1 software integration for Serato DJ Pro (license included) or Virtual DJ (license not included). Couple all of this with the integrated lighting engine and Sweetwater’s performance pros agree: the Denon SC Live 4 DJ controller is perfect for performance on any stage.

Premiere audio fidelity

Denon’s Engine DJ operating system undergirds its robust performance potential. Pair this with the onboard Wi-Fi connectivity and exclusive Amazon Music chipset, and you’ve got blazing access to over 100 million lossless tracks, transcending genres to accommodate any venue. Not into Amazon? The SC Live natively supports Beatport, Beatsource, Dropbox, SoundCloud Go+, and Tidal for internet-accessible streaming. Dedicated 3-band EQ controls for each channel are accompanied by versatile cue, pan, and mix parameters to blend tracks and FX for stunning performances anywhere, thanks to the robust onboard speakers.

Smooth operator

SC Live controllers spare no effort in providing unbridled DJ capabilities that are just as potent if you want to go laptop-free. Switch gears to “Computer Mode” to use the included Serato DJ Pro license, ensuring detailed, 1:1 software integration to use the SC Live with the full Serato suite of tools. The SC Live series are also designed for use with Virtual DJ (license not included), with the high-definition touchscreen for accessing information and performance tools for either program. Each deck is allotted four performance pads that can be used to access a total of eight functions for each pad, each of which are independently assignable for Hot Cue, Roll, Auto Loop, Manual Loop, and more.

Responsive, reactive playback

Armed with two 6-inch jog wheels, the SC Live affords precision performance with scratch and back cueing, as well as a vinyl mode and slip cue that are easily toggled. Pitch and tempo changes can be accomplished via range-selectable pitch bend buttons or the tempo slider, available for each deck. A user-friendly interface lets you painlessly manage tracks and playback tools, featuring four sweep FX and 16 bpm FX for a perfectly personalized performance. Use the dedicated key- and tempo-sync buttons as well as looping, beat jump, and track skip features to dial in tracks and transitions with ease. Obtain real-time visual feedback with the 7-inch, high-definition display, loaded with multi-gesture touch support.

Plug in at any stage

As the curator of the crowd, reliable connectivity is a must. The SC Live 4 is outfitted with two microphone inputs, dedicated talkover toggle, and volume adjustment, letting you communicate easily without the risk of disrupting your performance. The ins and outs allow for painless use in any performance. Front-loaded headphone jacks are available in both 3.5-milimeter and 1/4-inch varieties, accommodating your headphones of choice while preventing wires from getting tangled, mid-show. Dedicated XLR, RCA, and 1/4-inch booth outputs ensure connectivity in most systems without compromising audio quality. Two USB-A ports are accompanied by a USB-B port and an SD card slot, letting you connect to your tunes or your computer on your terms, with additional auxiliary inputs for expanded audio integration.

Stems-capable for total track authority

In addition to its slew of dynamic performance controls, your gear comes included with full standalone Engine DJ Stems control. This addition arms you with even more fine-tuning over individual tracks, vocals, melodies, bass lines, and more. As a result, you'll have opportunities for sonic experimentation onstage while keeping your tracks sounding clean and professional. Simply pre-render your tracks or playlists with Engine DJ's Desktop software, export your files to your device, and enjoy control over 4-part stems as you perform and record. With Engine DJ Stems in tow, channeling and masterminding your favorite parts of any mix becomes an ever-more efficient task within any live performance scenario.

Reviews

I'm having way too much fun.
I'm a long time music maker and part time DJ. I fussed around with controllers and DVS systems for a long time. Earlier this year, I discovered the Numark Mixtream Pro standalone system and really loved it. The only things I didn't like about the Mixstream Pro were the lack of reverse, the reduced number of pads, and you were limited to only 2 channels. Other than that, the Mixstream Pro is a blast and I still highly recommend it. When I saw this pop up, I noticed it has the reverse function, and a full array of pads per channel. The price is more than the Mixstream but it was worth it for the upgrades. Lastly, I feel these standalone controllers are a GAME CHANGER. Not being tied down to a computer for this type of interaction with music, is a must. I feel that every huge music fan, studio, producer, etc should have one of these to enjoy music with. I originally bought this for sample and beat manipulation in my studio, but more often than not, I use it as my for-fun music listening device. I have not been this excited over a DJ product since the first Pionner CDJs in the early 2000s when you could first scratch and beat match digital files. This is a game changer! If you don't buy this, buy the 2 channel version or the Numark Mixstream. While I like this better than the Mixstream, I honestly miss the Mixstream already because of its smaller size but the features you get added on this are worth the extra real estate.

PROS: 4 channels. REVERSE! Great software. Great platters for scratching. Amazon Music was an unexpected and awesome surprise. WiFi is solid and dependable. Good fader. Big platters! Good USB and SD card options.

CONS: Only has Aux in, I would love to plug in my real turntables into the mixer. Would also love a DVS input option. The filter does not have a resonance control. As soon as its activated, it has a boosted resonance peak which sounds very cheesy and annoying. It's digital so hopefully Denon/EngineDJ address this in a future update. Please let us control the resonance peak/boost of the filter! Small screen. Typing on the touchscreen sucks because of its location. Your forearms hit the platters and it can spoil the music. The good news is - you can plug in a USB keyboard and type out what you need on the screen (like when you're searching for songs on Amazon/SoundCloud, etc.)

InMusic - please don't stop including "reverse" on these devices. It was the only dealbreaker for me on the Mixstream. We need reverse and we need to edit the filters.
Excellent Controller
I have been DJing for a long time and still have a pair of technics. I had an older Pioneer controller and wanted to invest in a standalone controller. I'm not a fan of having to hook up to my computer and, overall, was looking for a workflow closer to a vinyl setup. I had no intention on getting a Denon controller, but the reviews from various sources were really great and I absolutely love this piece.

It is a very solid unit: the jog wheel and pitch fader are very accurate and sturdy. The mixer is also simple, solidly constructed and easy to use. The touch screen is great. The streaming is a great option to have, but I don't use it much and the speakers sound excellent, very clear. At home I pretty much just use the built in speakers for practice.

For the price point, you can't beat it. I find Engine DJ to be easy to use and much smoother than competing software. It has the sturdiness and reliability of technics, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm quite impressed with Denon and am very happy I chose this controller over the competitor.
Awesome Controller
This thing is awesome! I've had it for a few months now and it's a ton of fun. The Wifi works great. I connect to Beatport and have all the tracks I could need at my fingertips. Also I can access my engine library wirelessly which is awesome. My friends and I jam out in the backyard for hours and the speakers actually sound good. This controller has everything one would need to have a good time.
Great for a novice to experienced
Great system and easy to learn
Nice standalone mixer overall. This is great system for the studio and the club. Moving and bouncing tracks to the 4 decks were. Syncing tracks to the bpm is amazing. The wi-fi connection was simple to connect.
The product support team is quick and super knowledgeable The advanced features that I wasn't expected was a dope surprise as well
Powerful! Lots of Bang for you're Buck! Sounds Great! Great Value.
When I was reviewing the SC Live 4, I was nervous because there was a bit of negative reviews out. Like, It's made of plastic! it has built in speakers, slow load times!!

Absolute Rubbish!!

It Sounds like a DENON!!! And I can afford it!! Made cheaply what? I drag it all over the place, it is robust and rugged!
The speakers Crank!! It's like having booth monitors that I don't have to drag around!

Slow load times? It depends on your internet connection and router. So I bring my own router to the Gig's.

It sounds Amazing and it has greatly reduced setup and tear down. Thank You Denon for releasing a controller I can afford!
