Crown Your Collection with the Spector that Started It All
Built in highly limited quantities, the Spector USA SB-1 pays homage to the first models made in Spector’s New York Custom Shop in the 1970s. This solidbody bass combines the very best of vintage Spector style and modern Custom Shop craftsmanship, beginning with a sustain-rich maple neck-through foundation and curly cherry wings. Formed into the Spector's original SB profile, the SB-1’s double-cut design supplies you with unimpeded access to the pau ferro fingerboard’s 24 medium-jumbo frets. Plus, a Spector Standard neck profile in an oil finish supplies your palm with a nearly frictionless feel. Plug in and a DiMarzio Model One humbucker will shake any stage with a thunderous low-end presence and superb top-end definition. You also get a top-of-the-line hardware configuration, including a brass nut, a Badass I bridge, and Gotoh tuning machines to keep your setup stable all tour long. It all adds up to a collector-grade Custom Shop creation that honors Spector’s pioneering role in shaping the world of modern boutique bass guitars.

Inspired by Spector's original late-1970s creations
The Spector SB-1’s story begins in the late 1970s, when Stuart Spector and Alan Charney first began building instruments in Brooklyn, New York. Their first bass creation? The SB-1, featuring a trailblazing, wholly original double-cut design envisioned by Stuart as the future of the 4-string. This SB-1 is a modern tribute to those original Spector instruments that started it all, but be sure to act fast — an extremely limited number of SB-1s will be built in a variety of tonewood variations, and when they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

Vintage-style DiMarzio Model One humbucker
Originally engineered as a replacement pickup for the beloved EB-style basses of yesteryear, the DiMarzio Model One dishes out vintage low-end attitude. This chunky humbucker pickup boasts the same rafter-rumbling low-end response as its historic predecessor, only with a sharpened-up top end for superior clarity and definition. In fact, the Model One has long served as a go-to choice for rockers of all varieties, and it’s a personal favorite of the legendary Billy Sheehan. Finally, the Spector USA SB-1’s single pickup sports a streamlined Volume/Tone setup in honor of the straightforward performance of the original SB-1s.
