Acoustic pickup
This little pickup is awesome, thank you Curt and everyone at Sweetwater. If I ever get good enough I will update my Amplifier as well.
Music background: Coronet, 8 years, I have owned a guitar most of my life.
Plug it in and GO!
I was going to buy and electric 12 string (Sorry Sweetwater) then I remembered I have a 12 acoustic. I went on Sweetwater's cite and found this pick up. I figured for the price I'd give it a try. Glad I did. It was delivered in a timely manner and mounted to the sound hole easy. I plug it into the amp and voila it sounded really good and I saved hundreds of dollars.
Unreal Value!!!!!
I had no idea what to expect when this thing showed up. I thought I was gonna have to do some kind of install through the back strap button or something (guess I should've paid more attention to the description and pictures). Needless to say I was super surprised when it showed up and was just a piece of wood with a cord coming out of it and a 1/4" jack at the end. I was so super skeptical as I was unwinding the twist ties from the cord. There's no way this thing is going to be any good. Boy was I wrong. It has little foam pieces inside the side slots, which makes it attach into your sound hole very securely. The cord runs out the bottom and despite what I was thinking is not in the way at all. Now onto the sound. Now remember, this is just a piece of wood attached to a cord. Holy crap this thing sounds good! I'm just so blown away with the whole thing. The sound, the adaptability, the portability. This small little piece of wood with a cord attached to it has it all !!! I highly highly highly recommend!
Keep this in your bag for when your piezo runs out of batteries.
I've tried piezo, microphone, and sound hole pickups and they all have their tradeoffs. This one sounds great and is very good quality. The integrated cord is plenty long enough, maybe even too long? I know longer cords can introduce interference. The cord is also very thick and heavy duty. I can fit this in my sound hole even with a sound hole volume control mounted in the way. When I was getting feedback with piezo and a microphone pickup (lr baggs lyric), this one has no feedback. The tone is great on these. I love that it's the happy medium between a quacky sounding piezo and and boomy or feedback prone microphone-based pickup system. I don't understand why reviewers knock a star off their ratings because the cord isn't long enough? Just hook up a direct box and extend it? Also, they knock a star off for being a single coil pickup and having inherent noise. That's like criticizing a gasoline car for having exhaust. It's a trade off. single coils have crisper, sparklier tone than humbuckers at the expense of the noise/hum

sound is great
the sound from this unit is extremely great. It's full sound from the bar is off the meter. I made the mistake of ordering for a round hole and I have an oblong hole, my bad. The bar still works great
