As one of Ibanez's fastest necks to date, the Wizard-7 is an 11-piece panga panga/maple/walnut/bubinga neck that is an absolute pleasure to play. This slim and super-comfortable neck lets you pull off lightning-fast runs and arpeggios with ease, but it still gives you the substance you need for gripping chords. From the first time you wrap your hand around the Premium S1070PBZ's Wizard-7 neck, you'll know you have a guitar that was built with performance in mind.

Great stability, sustain, and articulation

The Ibanez Premium S1070PBZ features an Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge — an expertly designed system that not only provides killer sustain but also amazing stability for staying in tune. The Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge lays nearly flush to the guitar's body and has features for adjusting tremolo response and string tension via the Ibanez-designed Zero-Point system located on the back of the S1070PBZ body.

Versatile pickup configuration

The pickup configuration on the Ibanez Premium S1070PBZ is a work of art in itself. A DiMarzio Air Norton humbucker in the neck slot kicks out deep, warm tone without muddying out when driven hard. A second humbucker at the bridge, the DiMarzio Tone Zone, features brilliantly high-output yet delivers tremendous dynamic range, so you can get even more tones out of your guitar. Chords are huge, even single notes have depth, and the DiMarzio Tone Zone's patented dual-resonance coils deliver killer overtones. Finally, a single-coil DiMarzio True Velvet sits in the middle position, nailing that vintage single-coil tone. Engineered to emphasize the "sweet spot" where the highs are bell-like, the True Velvet uses a special magnet stagger to avoid the harsh tone you can get above the 12th fret on the higher strings.

Sounds just as beautiful as it looks!
What caught my eye about this guitar was the beautiful burl top. Honestly, it's stunning. I've never owned a Premium Ibanez before this guitar so I didn't know what to expect. I have since bought a Premium JEM amd I gotta say that the Premium factory in Indonesia is kicking out some great guitars!
It has the exact same pickups that my 2001 J Custom has and the stainless steel frets have the prestige treatment that makes them smooth as silk. The Edge Zero 2 with ZPS is simple to setup and stays in tune wonderfully. If you're not a fan of how the ZPS works, you can actually remove the plastic piece and make it a traditional floating bridge.
S Series Ibanez guitars have always been my favorite guitars from Ibanez and this specific guitar solidifies that opinion!

A revelation.
I'm looking at my other guitars now, and wondering if I'll even pick them up again.

Sound - to me, it's quite bright sounding, but the simple tone knob and pickup selector have you covered. The neck has perfect intonation, harmonics, and sustain…best neck I've ever had that is made from wood.

Feel/Construction - the body shape, and profile are perfection. Very thin profile that just blends into your body and arm. The neck iis like butter, and super fast. I'm not a shredder, but if you are…..this guitar has your back. All of the hardware is solid as a rock, and the playability is a form of perfection

Look - just gorgeous. The woods and finishes, black chrome hardware. Wow! Special thanks to Matt S. @Sweetwater for hand picking this beauty for me. The man has good taste.

Overall, I had high expectations…..this guitar blew past those expectations.

I started looking for a guitar that felt good in the hands and inspired the want and desire to play all the time. That is not to say equipment makes one better or changes much, I just mean that good equipment makes a difference. This guitar fit the bill for me, and I find myself thinking about it a few times a day until I can get back and start working through new things I am learning and playing ideas. Putting this guitar in my hands has been pure pleasure. The feel of the neck and the speed is excellent. Some reviews I have read about the glowing markers, BLUF they work. They are great in very low light. They do not glow like a toy, they have a gentle, and long sustaining glow. Just enough to give one a point of reference. I like to practice in the dark and focus on knowing the feel of the instrument as well as focus more on the sound without the distraction of trying to see what I am doing. The glowing markers on the top of the fret board are just enough to find my place if I am completely lost without having to travel the entire neck and regain my position. Overall, the look, feel and playability of this guitar is nothing short of amazing, and everything I could have wanted. As for the experience with Sean DeLeon, 'my Sweetwater guy', the experiences have been as smooth and hassle free as one could want. HE was not only knowledgeable on product, and able to assist with questions, he also brings a wealth of additional knowledge and experience from across the board in music, and his ability to work through any snags in purchasing. I don't like to write reviews; in this case I see it is warranted. The product is everything I could want. This guitar is versatile enough, to cover everything I want to do, and very much in alignment with the sound and capability I was looking. Nothing is 100% all in one, it is the sound I have seen reviewed multiple times on you-tube and here on Sweetwater. The guitar arrived in perfect tune, and intonation. I was able to play it for a few weeks before needing some well-deserved new strings. The zero edge floating Tremelo, and the locking tuning pegs could not have made changing the strings any easier, for someone that has never changed strings on a floating Tremelo before. The appearance of the guitar was exactly my preference. The blue is stunning; however, I much prefer the subdued black allowing the brilliance of the guitar to stand out on its own. I have not seen a white one and so I cannot comment on this. The jumbo frets feel great, the edges are finished very well so there are no snags or rough edges, just a smooth travel through the fret board. butter seems to come to mind. I preferred the Stainless-Steel frets to nickel, wanting the greatest of ease for bending, and to couple with stainless-steel strings. If you are on the fence about the guitar, and can pull the trigger, I hope you do, and I believe you will have no regrets about the instrument. The instrument is equal in its appearance and performance. I really cannot say enough about this instrument, and the entire experience of purchase through Sweetwater, except, unfortunately... I have to spend some of my income on necessities...

LOVE SWEET WATER
I bought the Ibanez S1070PBZ in white burst. LOVE how this guitar plays and that trem system keeps these guitar in tune! I wasn't sold on the blue burst, however, I saw the charcoal burst and had to have it! Called up, worked with associate Christian Good...he was able to work with me, got a great price. The total time, including negotiating a price, took about 5 minutes. FAST, friendly service and sales associates that work with you. Sweetwater FTW!!!
