The Future of Combos? Introducing the Dynamis D25!

The Revv Dynamis D25 marks several impressive breakthroughs: the all-tube D25 is Revv’s first-ever combo, and it comes with integrated Two Notes Torpedo technology for modern connectivity. The D25’s low- to mid-gain voice was collaboratively developed with Nashville session artist Shawn Tubbs to ensure pristine performance and tone. A 12AX7 preamp section and 6V6s power section craft a warm, classic voice packed with clean headroom and subtle, warm breakup when pushed. Factor in a Revv RV30 speaker, and the D25 is ready to belt out rich, soulful cleans and powerful, gritty, punchy crunch with zero grating high end. This firebreather packs a dynamic gain boost and pristine digital reverb, both footswitchable, as well as a buffered effects loop and a 5-watt mode for quiet use. Additional Two Notes virtual cabinets and IR loading options give the D25 supreme versatility beyond your average combo. Two Notes facilitates instant virtual cab sim access for acclaimed miked cabinet tones, or users can record direct in relative silence without sacrificing true tube tone. With a perfect blend of tube power and ingenious connectivity, the D25 is poised to be your one-and-done combo for years to come — grab yours from Sweetwater today!

Two Notes Revvolutions

The D25 expands on Revv’s D20 head as the first-ever marriage of tube tone and Two Notes technology. The D20 was a taste of the future, but combo features and versatility catapult the D25 to another echelon. With Two Notes’ cab sim and IR capacity, gigging, travel, practice, and recording are more seamless than ever. Whether you go direct to FOH, an audio interface, or headphones, the D25 delivers. When hitting a big stage, the D25’s virtual cabs and XLR output offer massive miked cab tones to stage mixers, while you never have to touch or own a speaker cabinet. Recording direct at home? Two Notes lets you skip the power amp section or use an attenuated 5-watt power mode for more discrete sound with analog soul kept intact. The D25 comes preloaded with six virtual cabinets for immediate use; up to 128 more presets can be loaded and controlled via MIDI. Of course, you can always crank the D25 to 11 and let the D25’s Revv RV30 speaker howl on its own. Hobbyists, pros, and weekend warriors can all use Two Notes features for long-term savings and a tidier rig. Moreover, the D25 puts Two Notes tools, including virtual cabinet selections, right on the amp’s front panel for clean access and rapid setups.

Combo essentials, artisan execution

Beyond advanced connectivity, the D25’s tone-shaping tools include 3-band EQ, a 2-way gain boost, and a built-in digital reverb. Add crunch, space, and weight to your tone, or route your effects through a buffered effects loop. The D25 is a great pedal platform, and you can further shape sonics with an included footswitch outfitted with gain boost and reverb toggles. The gain boost is perfect for edge-of-breakup crunch and searing tube overdrive when pushed. Sweetwater guitarists especially value Revv’s inclusion of a pre/post gain boost switch, which drastically alters the boost’s character and signal path, so you aren’t locked into just one tone. Even with its rich feature set, the D25 is one smooth operator with front-panel and footswitch access to all the essentials. It’s one inspiring combo that you can't miss!

Reviews

Focused and disciplined, a studio and touring pro's best friend
Love it. CONTEXT: I've owned for two weeks, and used both in studio and live.

My main observation with this amp is that it is voiced extraordinarily well for a mix. While I personally ALSO love the sound of this amp alone in the practice room, it really shines in the context of a track or live mix, largely because the low end is usable frequencies only, even fully open. The reverb sounds great, and again, usable amounts at any level.
Music background: Touring/session player, recording artist
The amp performed like a dream!
I literally took the amp out of the box during load in for a gig, spent 3 minutes tweaking the tone stack, and played the gig. The amp performed like a dream! I had it at 5W for onstage "monitoring" and ran it to FOH. In both cases, the tone was incredible. The output volume had an extremely wide sweep; in this case, I had to set it to about 2:30 to set the gain stage to the board (i.e. a crap ton of headroom) because I think I was using the Post setting (I'm still not sure since the manual hasn't been released yet and we had about 5 minutes to switch over/soundcheck).

I had the amp set just on the clean side for the edge of breakup and used my gain staged pedals to get the crunch as needed. One word here - FANTASTIC. The advertising about 'pedal platform' is, if anything, an understatement. The D25 has a terrific tone stack with lots of subtle shading and makes my pedals sound even better. Here is the layout of my pedal board (all sent to the input stage. No FX loop) - Hudson Broadcast (2 button)>StroboStomp>Ego Compressor>Browne Amp Protein>Strymon Deco>Strymon El Cap>Strymon Flint. I had more than enough crunch on tap for this gig and, with only a little tweaking, would be able to cover any genre I need to have on tap.

In a completely new twist for me, I did not use the reverb from my Flint. I used the digital 'verb on the amp entirely - I found it musical and very easy to control (I only use enough 'verb to spread the tone a bit). I need to try it in a more controlled setting to hear the whole spectrum but I'm impressed.
Boxy sounding, but good.
I didn't try out the full capabilities of this amp, because if I can't get a good amp sound within the first 20 minutes of playing with the the amp EQ and gain settings, then I send it back. I'm sure this thing is really meant to plug into front of house, a PA system, or into a computer and then you can use this as a monitor. If this had a deeper and wider cab then I'm sure it would sound a lot better, but if you use this all by its self, it sounds really small and super boxy to my ears.
Music background: Opened for Sheryl Crow and then went on to play at Red Rocks.
