Same Plug-and-play Wireless System — with Upgrades!

The Line 6 Relay G10SII gives you the same superior quality as Line 6's original G10S, with several welcome upgrades under the hood and a sleek and stylish silver transmitter. Ideal for guitar, bass, and any other instrument with a high-impedance output, this digital wireless system connects your gear up to 130 feet away via frequency-agile, multiple-redundant, 24-bit digital audio. Automatic or manual frequency selection gives you plenty of setup options, and wireless signal and battery level LED indicators make sure you stay up and running. Get your sound anywhere you need it with an XLR direct output. Emulate the sound of a 10- or 30-foot cable with the Cable Tone switch. You'll appreciate the Relay G10SII's ease of use, and with extended battery life and abundant internal optimizations, this wireless unit's pro-quality performance is better than ever.

Instrument wireless made blissfully simple

Other than switching it on, the Relay G10SII is as easy to use as an instrument cable — no setup fuss, no fumbling with menus, just plug-and-play simplicity. You don't even need to mess with batteries, thanks to the built-in Li-ion battery onboard the transmitter, which plugs into the dock to charge. And since you get over six hours of run time with 150 hours of standby time, you don't even need to panic about charging your Relay G10SII mid-show. The guitarists here at Sweetwater appreciate the intuitive ease of use afforded by the Relay G10SII.

Cable Tone: the sound of a cable — without the cable!

You don't want to be tethered to your amp, but that cable sure adds an undeniable character to your tone, doesn't it? Excellent news! The G10SII sports Line 6's selectable Cable Tone technology, which simulates the subtle tonal effects of a standard 10- or 30-foot cable, giving you the freedom to rock from stage left to stage right — while sounding just like you're wired.

Line 6 Relay G10SII Digital Wireless System Features:

  • New-and-improved version of the original G10SII wireless system
  • Simple, affordable, and reliable instrument digital wireless system with a 130-foot range
  • Automatic setup means you never have to mess with menus or settings
  • Manual frequency selection for using specific channels
  • Redundant 24-bit digital wireless provides highly dynamic, clear, and reliable transmission
  • Transmitter runs for up to 6 hours per charge and charges in the docking receiver
  • Wireless signal and battery level LED indicators
  • XLR direct out for getting your sound anywhere you need it
  • Cable Tone switch emulates the sound of a 10-foot or 30-foot cable
  • Ideal for guitar, bass, or other instruments with high-impedance outputs

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

So far, so good!

I got this Friday, used it for band rehearsal yesterday, and love it so far. Time will tell on durability, but I'm not worried about it. If we play with our toys, stuff happens to them. This is my second Line6 wireless system. The last one was ten years ago and it used a body pack. It worked great except that I wore out cables and they were expensive to replace. Okay, here are my observations so far:

1. Sound quality: To my ears, there's no difference between this and a high quality cable. I'm playing two different Strandberg Boden 7's and a Schecter Hellraiser 7 with passive SD pickups through a few pedals into an Orange Rockerverb 50 MkII. The Strandbergs (an original NX 7 and a Boden+ NX 7 with a True Temperament neck) both have Fishman Fluence active humbuckers and I didn't have any of the problems I've heard about using this device with active pickups. I connected the receiver to my wah, which is where I plug in a guitar cable. I haven't played with the cable tone settings yet, just left it off as it was set when I got it. 5/5 on sound quality.

2. RF interference: I have wireless stuff all over the house and studio using the 2.4GHz range including wireless devices in our PA system and mixer controllers, and had zero issues. I left the receiver channel setting on automatic. 5/5 on this too.

3. Range: I walked around the basement playing to find out when the signal would start dropping out. When I got to the other end of the basement which is about 50-60 feet from my pedal board, I started getting dropouts. This is through several walls, wiring, floor jacks, beams, HVAC equipment, etc. Up to that point, the signal was solid. I've read reviews that said the range is terrible and once you're out of line-of-sight it's useless. Maybe there are some bad units out there, but this one is great. If you need to roam around a stadium during a gig, you might need something with more range, but for me this is plenty. 5/5 on range for my purposes.

4. Transmitter: When I started looking at this device, I had concerns about whether the transmitter would fit into the cable jack recess on my Bodens. I emailed my outstanding Sales Engineer Ryan Murray about this and he assured me that it would fit. When I first plugged it in, it did fit. I had the long dimension oriented toward the back of the guitar though at first, and I kept bumping it with my hip and unplugging it. When I plugged it in with the long dimension oriented toward the neck as shown in this picture, it fit perfectly and was well out of the way for standing or sitting, and all my moving around didn't cause any trouble. Having used body packs, I like this better so far. It makes it easier and faster when switching guitars. The unit feels sturdy. I might get a short 1/4" extension cable to plug it in and velcro it or put it in my pocket for use with my Schecter. 5/5 on transmitter design, function, and fit to my guitars.

5. Receiver design: Solidly built and compact. The locking charging jack is a nice touch and the indicator lights are easy to read when standing over the pedal board. The output jack is positioned well for connecting it to the side of my wah with a short right angle cable. The only control I might need to mess with while playing (channel selector) is right on top and easy to reach. It has two power options (USB and standard 9V). I'm just using the wall wart power supply that came with it plugged into my power strip. I don't know if I'll ever need it, but the XLR output might come in handy some day. 5/5 on receiver design and function.

6. Battery: I only had an hour to charge it before rehearsal started and played for about three hours without much battery drain showing on the meter. 5/5 on the transmitter battery. Also, I love the design of this that lets you just plug the transmitter into the 1/4" jack on the receiver to charge it. The only thing there is that I need to remember to leave the power to my pedal board on for it to charge or plug it into a different outlet. 5/5 on battery and charging method.

I'm very happy with this system, and plan to gig with it (with a cable handy for backup, of course). I love wireless! I'm not the most graceful guitarist, and having one less cable to trip over and snag on things is a nice upgrade.

Automatic Channel Selection

I recently purchased the "Line 6 G10SII Digital Wireless Guitar System" and I am really pleased with it's performance. The sound quality I get from my Bass Guitar is really crisp and clean sounding. There is no noticeable latency in the signal. It's nice to not having the cord around to trip on.
One thing I learned about its operation that was not made very clear in the documentation that I want to pass along. After charging the transmitter to a full charge, I placed the G10TII Transmitter in the outward travel position of the Receiver. I packed every thing up and traveled to the practice site. Upon arrival, the equipment was hooked up and the Transmitter was placed in the guitar.
When the amps were turned on, the sound signal was choppy and broken up. I returned to the guitar cord and placed the Transmitter back into the charge position of the Receiver. After practice was done, I put the Transmitter back into the guitar and it worked just fine.
What appears to have been the problem, is that the Transmitter should have been moved into the charging position of the Receiver with the power on for a short period of time so that the correct operating channel could be automatically selected for the surrounding environment.
Having this additional operational information may be helpful.
Thanks

Guitar wireless

The range seems to be pretty good. I had problems of a dropped signal as it searched for and reacquired the signal a few times. I finally found a manual channel setting that is more stable. I have the original G10 still in use so I'm thinking that they have been in conflict. Aside from this hiccup, the wireless connection has been a joy to use. It gives me freedom to roam around my space without tripping on cords. It is really nice in a live setting where I get a chance to walk out into the audience, while playing, to hear what they hear.

What I Was Hoping For

I knew I was onto something when I saw the "Cable Tone" switch on the back of the unit. Not nearly enough players realize that the length of your guitar cable has an influence on its sound! It meant that the designers of this piece know what they're doing, so there was trust in the quality before I even set it up. I was not disappointed. And with the charger built into the receiver (so you won't lose the transmitter) it's a win-win.

LINE6 G10SII

I purchased this product and love it. The programmable option is great. Great range.

Thank you to Scott for all his advice.

As one of the world's largest Line 6 dealers, we've had a first-row seat to every groundbreaking release they've come out with. In fact, many of us gig out with Helix, their latest multi-effects pedal, or their modeling amps every week. What's more, Line 6 brings the same innovative approach to their live sound equipment that's made their guitar gear so popular. Whether you're looking for the perfect guitar rig to cover a wide range of styles or fantastically affordable digital wireless, ask your Sales Engineer about Line 6.
