Your Dante Monitoring Solution

If you're a RedNet user, Sweetwater has an invaluable addition for your audio-over-IP system. A compact Dante-compatible stereo monitoring box, the Focusrite RedNet AM2 provides headphone and line-outs for flexible monitoring of signals from your Dante network. The AM2 gives you a convenient front-panel 1/4" TRS headphone jack that delivers healthy level to both high- and low-impedance 'phones, while a pair of balanced rear-panel male XLR line-outputs accommodate monitoring on speakers and other uses. The AM2 sports a rugged, extruded-aluminum casing with no-slip feet. The base is also threaded to accept a standard mic stand.

Built for critical monitoring - and convenience

Incorporating Focusrite's latest 2-channel Dante receiver, the RedNet AM2 delivers state-of-the-art D/A conversion (sample rates up to 96kHz, with greater than 118dB dynamic range) for critical monitoring on headphones or speakers. The unit is fitted with large volume knobs for headphone and line-output levels; the line-outs also sport a handy mute button with indicator LED. Power, signal level, and network indicators are also onboard to keep you status savvy. To connect to your network or daisy-chain to other network devices, the AM2 provides dual locking Ethercon connectors. The Focusrite RedNet AM2 can be network powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) or by the rear-panel barrel connector and included DC power supply.

Focusrite RedNet AM2 Features:
  • High-quality stereo Dante monitoring solution for headphones and speakers
  • Superior D/A conversion for accurate, transparent-sounding audio
  • Headphone amp delivers healthy level to both high- and low-impedance 'phones
  • Separate headphone and line-output level controls

Optimize your Dante monitoring with the Focusrite RedNet AM2!
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

REDNET AM2
Quality product for the price. Easy to setup, and sounds good too!
Excellent
Working flawlessly so far. I am planning to get a few more of these!
Tons of gain.
Love it. Bought two of these for our church after purchasing our Rednet 6 and Madi option card for our D-Show. System is running great. These things have tons of headroom and the latency after processing everything through Protools with tons of plugins is only 10msec. Hard to believe. I'm a fan. NOTE: Update to the newest version of RedNet Control or it won't recognize the AM2's.
Focusrite REDNET AM2 great but whens the multifunctional piece coming?
So I will start with what I love, I love not waiting any longer for the final release of these. Wow, companies love releasing news so early. I own a red net 1 and FOUR red net 4s and love them minus the fact that there was no headphone solution, talkback, or any dante based control. So this unit frees up my other analog outs for headphone distribution and I have been using it as my control room DAC, volume control, and headphone amp. So far compared to the REDNET 1 output I haven't noticed any significant quality drop off in monitoring from the mains, but haven't had the unit long enough to compare that. But the output is clean and ability to have very short runs into the sub and ultimately into my big Bryston power amp has seemingly helped lower noise floor. I love not having to turn on the REDNET 1 to mix and monitor and like having an integrated HP output. The HP channel sounds very nice and the output even on my 600ohm HPs is very good. Ear shattering levels not achievable, but I think loud enough for most.

Build quality is very nice, box seems well built and the rear panel is well built with XLR outs and solid Cat 6 etc.. The knobs feel smooth and solid. I wish a little more resistance but nice.

So overall, love having the new features in the setup with the AM2, been waiting for something like it.

******However, why not two headphones, two stereo monitor outs? I would pay 800 for that without having to buy a second unit to do this and having two small but now redundant pieces on the desk.

Even better, why not rule the world with a full REDNET Dante control surface? 16-18 faders, two HP, monitor switching and talk balk. 2500$? take my money!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE
Ethernet port fail
I saw a review for the same thing, basically I lost network connection in the middle of a livestream with no redundant audio. Tried switching the cable and it came back before 5 mins losing the network again. I have had this device for almost 1 year and have now experienced this issue twice. Not sure the root cause because I am on the power supply and not doing POE. Going to get a redundant setup going now so that I don't have to worry about that again.
Music background: Live Audio Engineer

If you're like a lot of the recording engineers here at Sweetwater, then you probably grew up with stories of the legendary Focusrite Forte console and its ISA preamps. Our relationship with Focusrite is extremely tight, and we regularly enjoy everything from the inside scoop on new gear to fish and chips when they stop by Sweetwater. While Focusrite still produces the classic analog preamps, EQs, and compressors we love, our Sales Engineers are just as excited to introduce our customers to their remarkable RedNet network audio platform, and we have worked with Focusrite to outfit studios, churches, venues, and schools with this awesome technology in action. From everyday audio interfaces to full system designs, if you want Focusrite gear, Sweetwater has you covered.
