You Don’t Need to Fear This Reaper

Prepare to take a trip to the underworld with Schecter’s Reaper-6 Elite. An outstanding collection of mahogany, maple, and wenge tonewoods facilitate a mellow acoustic tone, which easily converts to a balanced yet decisive metal output with the help of dual San Andreas humbuckers. When paired with a comfortable, fast-playing “C”-shape neck, this axe provides more than enough notational navigation for shred fanatics, tone chasers, and metalheads alike. Slap on the Reaper-6 Elite’s Hipshot Ibby HM bridge and Grip-Lock tuners, and you’ll be able to explore the tonal plane for hours without losing a hint of perfect intonation. Whether you plan to perform punk, metal, or classic rock, the Reaper-6 Elite won’t go quietly.

Unadulterated tonewood performance

Khaya African mahogany, wenge, and ebony — it’s not a tonewood marriage that you see every day. However, rest assured, the Reaper-6 Elite takes full advantage of this combo’s sonic abilities. While the mahogany body provides a relatively tight and mellow audial foundation, its wenge neck comes back to bite with a bright midrange tone, balancing out the Reaper-6 Elite’s sound to a T. Although some players might prefer to cut through the Reaper’s powerful passive electronics system, Sweetwater guitarists have reported that playing this axe alone provides more than enough reason never to let go.

It’s all in the neck

The Reaper-6 Elite’s wenge neck oozes fast-action maneuverability. Providing a sleek satin finish on its ultra-thin “C”-shape neck profile, this axe’s effortless navigation stands out among a score of other contemporary instruments. Its neck-through joint, in tandem with a double-cut body shape, also means you can get up close and personal with higher frets, making skull-splitting leads and upper-note bends as easy as pie. Better yet, you’ll benefit from the neck’s added structural integrity, which provides extra intonation support and the confidence that your guitar will remain in stable condition after years of extensive use.

USA SA Humbuckers pump out raw metal tone

A set of onboard San Andreas humbuckers transform the Reaper-6 Elite into a versatile metal powerhouse. Heavy and articulate, this hot duo provides strong mids and highs while exhibiting dense low-end drive. This pickup lot's high-gain and attack are perfect for traditional metal rhythms and leads, and their exquisite tonal balance makes all that power emerge in stunning clarity. Looking to take control for yourself? No problem: slice through any sound these beauties have to offer by way of a 3-way pickup selector switch and dual push-pull volume and tone knobs.

Schecter Reaper-6 Elite Electric Guitar Features:

  • 6-string electric guitar with decisive styling and appointments
  • Quilted maple top and Khaya African mahogany body bears unmistakable axe tone and a salient appearance
  • Neck-through joint generates impressive resonance and sustain while improving structural integrity
  • Schecter USA San Andreas humbuckers provide performance-grade output and versatility for near-endless sonic exploration

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Born in blood and metal!

My grandmother recently got this rig for me for when I fully got into the music industry and I've played only once so far, but let me tell you that the feel of this guitar is second to none. This thing chugs like a train and, while water isn't thicker than blood, this guitar's tone is! This is my introduction to Schecter and it's going to become my goto brand for guitar equipment.
Music background: Begginer producer and guitarist

An axe forged in the underworld

This guitar looks way prettier in person than the photos can do it justice. The gradient of the finish and the trim that tapers off into the deep black of the base is phenomenal. The mahogany neck gives the whole guitar a synchronized look and it's blended with the fingerboard nicely, with a matching headstock contoured to look like the blade of a scythe. The hardware keeps this guitar in tune for numerous practice sessions, I practice twice a day and I tune every three! Add to the fact its only about 3 nits off every time I tune! I'm the type of player with very acidic sweat, and most fretboard would start to show the wear, but not this one. I've had this guitar for two months now and the fretboard is still pristine. fretting notes, tapping and hammer-ons are all a breeze; the fret size is a little taller than I'm used to, but that's not a deal breaker. The pickups might be a deal break for some people, tone tests online don't reflect what they sound like in person. The weight and depth that these pickups produce are a little extreme. This is coming from a guy who down tunes to drop C immediately. If you're playing metal, hard rock, or maybe some country this sound is for you, but if you're looking for versatility for all genres I'd look elsewhere. The pickup magnets are comically large even in the pictures! The coil split kind of helps, but you're not getting those twangy or glassy tones playing clean. If you were looking for a weapon of shred born from the core of metal this is for you. Every power chord, chug, and melody resonates to the pit of your stomach, and every pinch harmonic sounds like the scream of a lost soul crying out from the guitar.

TL;DR : love the aesthetic, hardware, and construction. Sounds are not too versatile, but METAL AF!
