Rev. Willy's Texas Tone

Soulful, rich, articulate and smooth, Billy Gibbons' big fat Texas tone has been described as "hot, blue, and righteous." Dunlop developed Reverend Willy's Strings in collaboration with Billy himself-aiming to make strings that offer a real punch and still stay articulate and clear when performing his legendary leads and pinch harmonics.

Every set of Dunlop Strings come packaged utilizing three levels of moisture protection and sealed in a VCI Fresh Technology (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) bag to guarantee that your strings arrive as fresh as the day they were made. Sweetwater guitarists don't hesitate to recommend Dunlop strings!

Awesome strings
I had been playing Fender pure nickel 9-42 strings on my guitars for a while, and I read about these strings somewhere. Although skeptical of the light gauge I ordered some 8-40 sets. Wow, I was very impressed with the tone and feel of these! I finger pick my electric guitars and not having to work so hard, I find many tonal flavors I didn't get before.

Fantastic for Arthritic hands and wrists.Sound great, Feel great, Last quite a while! Will never use anything else!
Music background: Guitar and Bass 50 yrs.
Never buying another gauge
Major shout out to Rick Beato for turning me on to these 8's because man has it been amazing. These strings play like butter and have held up for me very well (though they are used on all my studio recording guitars). They do require a slightly lighter touch, but I dont play heavy handing anyway so that was no problem. Long story short, I will absolutely be keeping these 8's on deck from now on.

Wow!
What a difference, I've been playing my 8's for awhile now and bought some in my brand. Night and day on smoothness and bend ability. Side my side on two teles, well y'all know, Deguello. Saltwater Rick gulf breeze Florida

Tried on a whim, got converted to 8s
People I know are afraid of sounding too thin with these. 90% of guitarists I know play with too much girth in their tone anyway. I support what Josh Scott said in his Sweetwater interview with Don about how hardly any songs have ever been recorded with a bassy, fat guitar sound. It's all about the mids and upper mids if you actually want to be heard in a band. And if you are concerned about losing tone using 8s, watch Rick Beato's YouTube experiment on string gauge and see that bigger strings don't necessarily mean better tone.

I do use these on both of my G&L teles. Rich sound, awesome harmonics, easy on fingers. Requires a slight truss adjustment, due to exerting less tension on the neck. Using for about 6 months, haven't broke one yet. Could probably use high E as dental floss when I change them out.

May not be for heavy-handed players… might fret notes/chords out of tune too easily.
