Reviews

Surprisingly big sound!
I bought this after hearing a percussionist friend of mine play the laptop cajon at an outdoor acoustic show and I was surprised when he told me he had been playing unamplified. I had been playing a regular cajon but I also sing, and I wanted something that made it easier to play upright for easier breathing and singing. I play the laptop cajon with my hands, and also with a cajon brush and snare brush and it works really well as a portable percussion unit. I use the strap and affectionally call it my "rhythm purse". The projection and tone are amazing, much rounder and louder in the room than you would expect from its size. I don't have to play it that hard either, which is nice and helps me conserve energy for singing. It's easy to play and dance as well -- something I could not do while having to stay stationed to my regular cajon. Totally worth the $$ and a nice addition to my percussion collection!

Decent sound but poor quality workmanship
This little laptop Cajon actually sounds decent for its size and you're able to get several sounds out of it. Unfortunately, the workmanship on it looks rushed and without care. One of the top corners was over sanded when it was rounded off. The hole for the snare adjustment knob looks splintered. There are lines and tool marks on several parts of the body. Chips of wood were falling out of the bass port. Considering how well the Cajon was packaged, you would have thought it would be a better-made product. This instrument was definitely made to fit a certain pricing point. I ultimately ended up returning it.
