Before I had this, I struggled with getting microphones placed right, especially around the snare.

This engineering in this is incredible. You place it where you want it, and then turn the handle to lock it in place.

And the construction is rock solid. It's solid metal.

They may be expensive, but they are worth every penny! I have never had so many options for positioning a mic so quickly, easily, and unobtrusively than with these Lauten rim-mount drum mic clips. They feel really well-made, and should last for a long, long time so if you're looking for the easiest way to mic up a drum kit, keep these Lauten mic clips in mind.

These mounts are built like a tank, hold their position like a statue, and are nearly infinitely flexible in their positioning. I believe great tools make all the difference and these definitely are a high quality piece of hardware for the audio tool chest. I have these holding Audix D6s on Toms for the studio kit and our church kit and they are impressively better than both the Sennheiser clips I was using on the e904s and the Audix rim mount clips. Bravo Lauten Audio.

I first saw this product reviewed and demonstrated by Joe Carrell, one of my favorite engineers. I often struggle in my studio with drummers who don't leave a lot of real estate for me to be able to finagle a snare mic stand into the kit, and I end up using a mic clip. Most mic clips are fine but don't really give you too much flexibility to set the mic up just right. After watching Joe's video, I immediately came to Sweetwater to order one! This mic clip is AMAZING!!!! The flexibly this product offers for positioning the microphone just right is definitely a game changer. There is no position this clip cannot be placed in, and you can really fine tune the snare mic to get it exactly where you want it. It is firm and hold the mic well. I used it for the first time in a four-hour drum session, and it held its position perfectly...no drooping, falling or loosening up. Thank you, Lauten Audio! This is the prefect solution for getting a snare mic into tight spaces!

It's just great. I've not been much of a fan of rim mounting mics to my drums, but this changes things in a very good way. Especially when gigginig, I won't ever use anything else again. In the studio I still like having stands, but they can get a bit cumbersome. Mic placement has never been so easy and fast. Tonne shaping and phase through mic placement is a breeze. I'm also using Lauten Audio's snare mic right now - pretty sweet.
