Multi-scale Performance with Innovative Fluence Pickups

Featuring Fishman Fluence Modern humbucking pickups and a multi-scale neck, the Ibanez Axion Label RGD71ALMS combines epic tone with eminent playability. The Fluence Modern pickups deliver a huge range of aggressive sounds, further expanded by the push-pull voicing switch on the master volume control. And the RGD71ALMS is loaded with the Ibanez Mono-rail 7 hardtail bridge, which maximizes sustain and note articulation. Complete with Gotoh locking tuners for impressive tuning stability, the Ibanez Axion Label RGD71ALMS is a gig-ready guitar that's sure to impress.

Multi-voice Fluence Modern ceramic pickup provides two distinct voices

The Fluence Modern provides you with the choice of two unique, selectable voices. The Fluence Modern Humbucker Ceramic pickup's first voice is reminiscent of a modern active pickup. Plug into your amp and treat yourself to that familiar modern active pickup with tight bass, crisp highs, and a touch of growl. The second voice is a high-output humbucker tone made for distortion. Don't worry, both voices deliver the unmistakable humbucker sound! The voices can be accessed by any number of standard switches or push-pull controls and can be added as a completely reversible modification to most guitars.

Multi-scale frets for comfort, tension, and tone

Multi-scale frets are an exciting trend in guitar design aimed at down-tuned and technical playing. Matched to your fretting hand's natural angle of movement, you get a longer scale length on the bass side of the instrument and a shorter scale on the treble side. Not only does this offer you better intonation across all strings, but the higher tension on the low strings adds muscle and punch to your tone. The multi-scale neck construction equalizes that tension, resulting in a vibrant, open tone. At the same time, the higher strings have a familiar scale length for great single-string performance. While getting used to a multi-scale fretboard may seem intimidating, guitarists at Sweetwater have found that it's a very natural transition.

Your fingers will fly on this super-fast Nitro Wizard-7 neck

One of Ibanez's fastest necks to date, the Nitro Wizard-7 neck on the Axion Label RGD71ALMS is an absolute pleasure to play. This slim and super-comfortable neck lets you pull off lightning-fast runs and arpeggios with ease, but still gives you the substance you need for fretting chords. From the first time you wrap your hand around the Nitro Wizard-7 neck, you'll know you've got a guitar that was built with performance in mind.

Ibanez Axion Label RGD71ALMS Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Designed for fast, technical playing
  • Nitro Wizard-7 neck plays fast and smooth
  • Wide tonal range from Fishman Fluence Modern active humbucking pickups
  • Push-pull voicing switch on master volume control
  • Impressive sustain and note articulation with the Mono-rail 7 bridge

Reviews

I finally found what I'm looking for.
There are just some guitars that I feel connected, and this one clicked.
What I love:

-The Wizard nitro neck is amazingly fast and shreds like a dream, although I had to adjust the truss rod slightly. It didn't take long for me to adjust to the fanned frets.
- Tuning has been quite stable.
- The Fishman Moderns are beasts of pickups; they're hot and gnarly. Great clarity. Especially if you're trying to play or write technical riffs involving all strings, Cleans sounds beautiful.
-The looks, I mean, c'mon isn't she lovely? When I look at it I want to play it. When I hold, I want to write.

What I don't like about it:
- I'm being nit-picky here, but the aurora burst on the satin polyurethane has some little imperfections like the purple burst goes a little over the lines on some parts. This is hardly noticeable unless you look closely at it.

The Definition of Multi-scale Guitar Made Real
It amazes me how versatile this guitar is. I've got this guitar a few months back. I was looking for an instrument to tune as low as I want to (currently tuned down to EAEADEA) and the strings at the higher pitch are easy to bend and play without any trouble. The lower pitch strings are steadier and doesn't go out of tune like a 26.5" scale guitar. I definitely recommend this guitar if you're thinking about lower tunings. Huge shout-out to my sales engineer; Joe Holsclaw, for helping me get this amazing instrument!
Nearly perfect
After wanting this guitar years, I finally pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier.
Killer looks, great sound, this is one helluvan instrument. Plenty of professional appointments: Luminlay side dots and headstock logo, Fishman pickups, nicely recessed neck screws and input jack, Schiller straplocks… very impressed with everything packed in here. Pickups are huge, dual voicings are a nice option to have (and there's a third available if you're willing to remove the pickups and move some wires), I can't speak highly enough of this guitar.
Setup came perfect from Sweetwater; zero complaints about the unboxing.
The only teeny issues I have are you can see the stripes from the neck wood on the edges of the headstock, and the fingerboard extending past the slanted nut is an odd choice. These are just aesthetic and have nothing at all to do with the rest of the instrument.
By far the best-feeling and -sounding guitar I've owned.
Ready to djent. Well, almost
The neck is fantastic. The string spacing is a bit wider than expected but it works great. I had to have random high frets leveled as soon as I got it due to random buzz but no dead notes. The multi scale is intuitive and the only adjustment for me was playing the first fret as I feel the nut sooner and have to tilt back a little. Feels natural now. The nyatoh wood is awesome. My new favorite tone wood. Just amazing really. The body is not as flashy and bright as in the pictures. More of a dull glow, matte finish. The purple is most prominent when looking from straight ahead but turns to green then almost matte black when looking at it in playing position or hard angles. It looks fantastic though.
The Fishmans are hot! I run a fractal and had to pad the input a few clicks due to constant clipping.
I also wasnt thrilled with the stock strings. The give you a huge ferrel for a larger B string but the string tension was all over the place. 9 to 58. I had to order custom sized individually. I tune to drop S and I drop the B to an A too so my low string are a 68 and a 56 and that works really well for harder picking styles but it lost some brightness.

Overall this is a great guitar with typical Indonesian build quality. Love the pickups and especially the second voice setting.
