The Most Advanced BOSS Loop Station for Performance

For a performance-focused looping pedal that can turn your inspiration into a full song quickly, look to the BOSS RC-10R Rhythm Loop Station Pedal. The RC-10R's serial two-track operation is optimized for crafting loop performances with two independent song parts. Tap into over 280 built-in rhythm presets, each complete with two unique sections, intro and ending fills, and two transition fills. And with up to six hours of recording time, you can sketch out song ideas without worrying about running out of space. Complete with full MIDI I/O plus support for external switches and expression pedals, the BOSS RC-10R Rhythm Loop Station Pedal could be the performance looper you've been waiting for.

Craft full songs complete with drums

The BOSS RC-10R Rhythm Loop Station Pedal comes loaded with over 280 onboard rhythm styles, covering rock, pop, Latin, jazz, electronic, and much more. Each rhythm offers two distinct song sections, two fills for lifelike transitions, and intro/outro fills to complete your arrangement. And because the serial two-track loop engine is perfectly synced to the rhythm engine, capturing performances that flow together naturally is a simple affair. Of course, you're also able to create two independent loops with no rhythmic accompaniment if you wish. Musicians at Sweetwater also like using the RC-10R simply as a foot-controlled drum machine for practice sessions.

Setting a new standard for BOSS loop stations

BOSS loop stations have been some of the most popular looping solutions for decades, and the BOSS RC-10R Rhythm Loop Station Pedal takes that refined workflow and adds top-notch electronics. The loop engine is based around 32-bit converters with 32-bit floating-point processing, capturing the full depth of your tone and every nuance of your performance.

Built-in optimization for multiple playback systems

Dual outputs allow the RC-10R Rhythm Loop Station Pedal to feed both a guitar or bass amplifier and a full-range speaker simultaneously. This means you'll be able to use your favorite amp to shape your tone, while sending the rhythm track to a full-range playback system. But what if you don't have the option of using two speakers? The RC-10R has the clever option to filter just your instrument or just the drums, to optimize them for combined playback through a single speaker. In other words, you can tweak the drum tracks to sound "right" when played through your amp, or you can tweak the loop tracks to sound more amp-like when played through a full-range speaker.

Reviews

OMG this thing is a blast!!!
I'm an experienced player having been at it for decades from stage and recording to mostly jamming at home now. I researched the heck out of this and have only had it a week but what a fun device! As you can see from the pictures I'm currently experimenting with the RC-10r in full stereo through a 1965 Fender Champ (real deal) and Roland JC-22, and a few essential pedals on my small grab-and-go board.

Sound: after adjusting the output filter for my unique setup the drum sounds are surprisingly good, especially considering I'm simultaneously running it through a Class A tube amp and solid state amp (very different input buffers). It handles my pedals perfectly without any hum, the drum tracks are surprisingly good, and I wouldn't hesitate to gig with it. That said, if you're looking for recording quality drum tracks, you'll need to spend more money because this isn't really meant for that, but it's definitely acceptable for home or live situations.

Ease of use and learning curve: watch some videos, read pertinent sections of the user manual, and then just start playing. If you've ever messed with loopers I'm sure you won't have a problem. If you've not used loopers, spend some time and you'll be a pro within 1-2 weeks. There's a reason people refer to it as "playing a looper" because it's a little tricky getting the footswitch timing in some areas, and it's easy to see how additional footswitches would reduce the pedal dance. Eventually I'll connect it to my Boss GT-1000 and FS-7 to test the midi functions, tap tempo access, and run it in the 4CM with my Boogie and Friedman. I'm betting it'll sound massive!

Overall: This thing is just way too fun and it WILL make you a better player! In minutes I can lay a few tracks (rhythm, bass simulated on guitar), and then solo to my hearts content with a perfect metronome! I honestly wished I had bought one a few years back after my old drum machine died but live and learn! Have fun and keep playing!
Music background: Long time player, rock, country, folk, blues, some classical and jazz, lots of experience.
A God Send
I cant say enough about this pedal. 1st off, its made me a better musician. Timing, feel, and grooving with all types of rhythms. This pedal has opened my eyes to crazy possibilities!

You can use the looper or rhythm independently. I like to play a rhythm and use a tap tempo for practice. The looper is a standard Boss looper. Nothing standard about that. Only problem is you cant use it as a 2 track looper while in stand alone mode. Only with rhythm. All types of drum kits to keep it interesting. 808/909 too! Old school.

The pedal is based on the 200 series from Boss. Nice and compact. Stereo in and out. Full midi and a number of commands you can assign to a footswitch. Only problem with display is you cant name your loops. No space to do so. You'll have to remember, by number, what loops you have. 32bit sounds! And a large, 6 hours, of record time.

Pretty straight forward on operation of both the looper and rhythm. I love this so much i got 1 for each of my boards. This is a great tool from musicians to learn to play and play gigs. Get one, your gonna love it!

Boss RC-10 Loop station.
Boss RC-10 Loop station. High quality. Great price. Super fast shipping packed well. I recommend this product and recommend Sweetwater.
A+
Great beats. Easy to use.
Nice looper
It didn't take me long to figure it out. I was able to pick a drum beat, lay down a bass track, then a rhythm guitar over that. The drums are good quality and sound real without the drama of having a real drummer ;) This is perfect for practice or "one man band" stuff.
