Quantum Leaps Forward for Creator-focused Home Recording

As home recording technologies advance, so do the creative possibilities of artists and content creators. PreSonus’s Quantum ES 2 distills three decades of aural innovation into a powerful, flexible audio interface, primed for performance with unrivaled 24-bit/192kHz resolution. Its 2-channel design includes a pair of dual microphone and line inputs, as well as a dedicated guitar input that was co-designed with Fender. Recording experts at Sweetwater are enamored by the interface’s masterful mix of ergonomics and sleek aesthetics, providing real-time LED feedback alongside a streamlined, user-friendly interface. Surface controls are optimized to maximize detail and control, crafted with a satisfying tactility to seamlessly dial in your setup. With versatile recording tools, custom-built low-latency drivers, robust analog mic preamps, and MIDI capabilities, the Quantum ES 2 stands to upgrade any studio setup with uncompromising fidelity and control.

State-of-the-art sound and style

Beneath its elegant form factor, the Quantum ES 2 contains an armada of premium recording tech. Custom-designed low-latency drivers are complemented by high-caliber converters to maximize clarity and signal preservation, ensuring that audio is crystal clear and brimming with detail from input to playback. For its pair of combination mic/line jacks, PreSonus debuted their next-gen MAX-HD preamps, capable of up to +75dB of gain across a formidable 20Hz–20kHz range, resulting in unmatched transparency and clarity via digitally attenuated analog character. With impressive preamp gain, phantom power, and further controls, the flexible interface seamlessly accommodates a diverse array of microphone styles and vocal deliveries for live, studio, and broadcast excellence. What’s more, the Quantum ES 2’s Auto Gain capability dials in the optimum gain levels for microphone and instrument signals, teeing you up for the perfect take every time.

Elegant interfacing with Fender-designed finesse

Through a collaborative effort with Fender, the Quantum ES 2 was engineered to facilitate recording for virtually any style and environment, including a front-mounted instrument input and headphone output, providing guitarists and bassists with pain-free, plug-and-play accessibility. Onboard LEDs give users color-coded real-time feedback through a thoughtfully arranged interface, intentionally designed to deliver relevant details without distraction. To expand the interface’s interoperative potential, the Quantum ES 2 features 3.5-millimeter MIDI I/O, while its balanced stereo output jacks are DC-coupled, opening the possibility of sending CV signals to compatible modules, synthesizers, effects units, or pedals. Plus, the Quantum ES 2 includes a built-in Loopback capability, making quick work of crafting monitor or streaming mixes.

Wow Just A Great Interface!!!!
I would buy this a again great preamps love it
A Nicely Featured Interface
I picked up the Quantum ES2 as a replacement to the PreSonus Revelator which never played well in my audio chain. The Quantum ES2 has performed perfectly. I love the design with the mic inputs in the rear of the unit. That makes cable routing a breeze. The flatter wedge shape is ergonomically more comfortable to use than the rectangular boxy shape of other interfaces. Everything is visible from the top of the unit. It has an off/off button on the back of the unit. I don't like leaving my gear powered up. And honestly I really like the auto-gain feature (btw the unit also features 75db of gain) and use it quite a bit. In the months it's spent on my desk, I don't have a con. Sadly this unit may soon be discontinued as Fender has introduced a new series of Fender Quantum interfaces that return to the boxy rectangular shape. So I may grab a 2nd ES2 for a back up.

Gets the job done!
This is a simple but powerful audio interface that works great with almost any daw of your choice.

I've been using the Presonus Quantum ES 2 for a couple of weeks now to track some guitars and it is very good at it. No humming, no background noise and no unexpected surprises. I have already pumped out 2 songs using this bad boy and have found it to be quite useful and surprisingly easy to use.

I like the slanted design making it easy to see your input levels at any angle. The LEDs are dimmable so they won't hurt your eyes in the dark and that's a plus! Mute your monitors with a push of a button and easily adjust your levels using the auto gain so you won't have to worry about it when you're on the go.

The only thing I suggest you look out for is the c cable. If you have an older computer without a C port, then you might need an adapter since the included cable has usb c on both ends but don't let that discourage you from missing out on this wonderful interface.

So far, so good
Works fine with my windows 11 laptop and Mixbus software. My old v.1 Focusrite Scarlett was having trouble connecting with windows 11 (ok with windows 10 on my old laptop). Audio quality is great and no problems with the computer finding the interface.

Fills the bill
I bought the Quantum ES to fulfill a very particular purpose. I had a gig coming up I needed to practice for, but I was also out of the house for the week preceding. I wanted a box that would allow me to plug in a bass, a mic, and a set of cans and be able to either play back an Apple Music playlist or a Studio One session from my laptop, making for a very small setup easily transportable but powerful enough to get some real work done. Because of the way Loopback is implemented, the ES-2 makes this very simple. I'm already invested in the Presonus ecosphere, so I'm familiar with Universal Control. The UC interface for the ES-2 is quite extensive for a simple 2 in-2 out interface and allows the internal computer output to be routed to any of several destinations while still passing the inputs from the box itself. When I was using Apple Music I ran a Studio One session that included some vocal effects and a bass chorus to make things more fun. The dedicated guitar input works fine for bass but needs quite a bit of gain with a passive instrument. The ES-2 worked well and is now my main portable interface.

Sweetwater and PreSonus go way back, and that makes a lot of sense. Like Sweetwater, PreSonus is largely staffed by active musicians, songwriters, live sound techs, and engineers, and like Sweetwater, their culture shows up in everything they do. Early on, PreSonus broke ground by offering super-affordable audio interfaces that brought quality recording to home studio engineers everywhere. In the following years, we've been with them as they introduced a powerful, artist-friendly DAW, groundbreaking digital mixers, and more - all products we at Sweetwater use ourselves. One thing that's never changed, even as PreSonus has branched out into new territory, is that they've always done everything possible to provide you with the best value, and we're proud to stand by their products.
