Great desk and everything fits on it

The only complaint I have is that the day they tell you it drop ships is not really negotiable.

Top Five Reasons to get the RAB Audio ProRak

5 It comes wrapped up like a nuclear weapon in a James Bond movie, and your neighbors will think you've finally lost it
4 If the packing is this good, you can imagine how good the desk is
3 It's so easy to put together, even a caveman could do it
2 It's big enough to fit all of your stuff and leave room to curl up for a nap
1 It's as beautiful and functional as you could ever imagine

A word to the wise, the sucker is big. Shipping weight is 175 pounds. It takes two to manhandle it into place. The shipping container really is a thing of beauty! The desk got to me in pristine condition. I had dreams of what might fit - it exceeded all of my dreams. Another word of caution, shipping isn't cheap and there's a "lift gate" charge. Make sure you figure that into your budget.

If you're on the fence, don't be. Get it. You'll be glad you did.

Great Desk!

TL;DR: This is a truly awesome desk, and you won't be disappointed if you buy it.

It's a monster. Even if you check the measurements and are good at visualizations of an object in a space, you'll likely under imagine it's size. That wide open space is great for those of us who really want to spread things out. I'm able to have gear on both sides of my desk and still have room in the middle to work. There's plenty of room for two people to sit and collaborate. Maybe three, if you like them well enough.

The keyboard tray dwarfs my little 61 key controller, so I suppose my next purchase is going to have to be an 88 key controller. One thing the specs don't show is that there are holes drilled to adjust the height of the keyboard tray. I haven't adjusted mine so I can't report how that goes, but if you're a little worried about knee room it looks like you could get an extra inch or so above and beyond the desk leg adjustments.

Now for the only bad thing about the desk: I ordered the (OEM) casters so I could move the desk around, and wobbles a little more than I'd like. It still feels solid, but if you move your elbows around or play on your keyboard with anything other than a light touch, the table will shake. I will probably put the original feet back on and see if it makes any difference, because it moves just enough to be annoying. If I'm able to edit this and report back I will, but for now that makes me take off half a star.

My first desk arrived with shipping damage. It took about a week for Sweetwater and RAB to get a new one shipped out, but when the second desk arrived and I unpacked it I see that it's packed fairly well. It comes in a box stapled and strapped to a wood pallet. As someone who receives freight regularly, I think it would be better if the cardboard box were supported/reinforced with a little more wood strapping. If you're planning on transporting the packaged desk in the back of a pickup truck for any distance, please know it'll be a little sketchy with no real way of strapping it down. That said, no cardboard box even with strapping would be a match for the forks of a forklift, which happened to my first desk on its way to me. I can't blame Sweetwater or RAB for shipping mishaps, just be aware you really need to check for shipping damage before you sign for the freight.
