A Feature-rich Analog Mixer with USB and Effects

The Mackie ProFX12v3+ is an old-school 12-channel analog mixer with truckloads of modern digital functionality. It all starts with a solid analog front end, which includes seven of Mackie's acclaimed Onyx mic preamps, a 3-band EQ on all channels, and one-knob compression on channels 1–4. The ProFX12v3+'s high-resolution GigFX+ effects engine enables you to polish your tracks to a pro-level sheen. You also get a built-in USB-C audio interface, plus three recording modes for the utmost flexibility. Bidirectional Bluetooth functionality makes integrating calls and streaming audio a breeze. Add to that effortless latency-free monitoring, and you have a powerful mixing solution that fits seamlessly into a wide range of modern workflows. Also, hi-Z switches, along with a low-cut filter and +48V phantom power on all mic channels, a stereo 1/8-inch input on channel 11/12, two aux sends, and a subgroup bus round out the ProFX12v3+'s robust feature set. A stupendous solution for studio-quality recording and livestreaming alike, the ProFX12v3+ is a worthy addition to Mackie's decades-long legacy of building near-bulletproof compact mixing consoles.

Robust analog front end

A mixer is only as good as its analog front end, and the ProFX12v3+ doesn't disappoint. For starters, it includes seven of Mackie's legendary Onyx mic preamps, arming you with +60dB of gain and ultra-low noise performance. A 3-band EQ on all channels provides all the sound-sculpting power you need. You also get a one-knob compressor on channels 1–4, allowing you to rein in errant dynamics with ease. The ProFX12v3+ includes hi-Z switches for easy instrument DI-ing plus a 100Hz low-cut filter and +48V phantom power on each mic channel. The unit also has a stereo 1/8-inch input on channel 11/12, two aux sends, and a subgroup bus.

Studio-quality digital effects

Here at Sweetwater, one of the first things we noticed about the Mackie ProFX12v3+ is its high-resolution GigFX+ effects engine. This digital effects engine arms you with 24 studio-quality effects, including reverbs and delays, chorus, flanger, phaser, and more. To top it off, the ProFX12v3+ includes a full-color LCD screen that permits you to edit and save presets on the fly.

Powerful recording features

The ProFX12v3+ is your one-stop shop for crafting high-quality recordings. This outstanding 12-channel analog mixer includes a built-in 2-in/4-out USB-C audio interface. You get three recording modes: Standard, Loopback, and Interface. Standard lets you record your main mix, along with GigFX+ effects and EQ. Loopback adds your computer's audio to the main mix — a must for podcasts and livestreams. Interface captures untouched audio from channels 1–2, without effects or EQ. You'll also benefit from latency-free monitoring, enabling you to easily blend between your computer output and the direct analog feed from the mixer.

Reviews

Sweetwater is the Greatest of All Time!
I am 66 years old and have been a musician since I was 16. I have been shopping at Sweetwater for a number of years now and I have never been disappointed by any transaction. I want to commend Mr. Riley Koenemann for his exceptional customer service. His knowledge and advice are always concise. The packaging is always a professional, and the delivery is reliable-- being in Hawaii, that is super important! Thank you, Riley, and Sweetwater, for making my music endeavors possible. Just what I needed
I probably do not use this mixer in a way that most people do because I use it to interface with my Steinberg audio interface to my iPad so that I can use quality mics (condenser and dynamic) in singing on a Karaoke app called Smule. A Usb C to C chord connects the mixer with my iPad, whereas a xlr chord connects the mixer with my audio interface. So, bottom line, I now get a really quality sound out of my mics because of the Mackie preamps well beyond what I got just out of my Steinberg audio interface. And the Mackie FX effects in conjunction with my SingThing TC Helicon allow me to tailor my sound even further. I am only into week three or four with my mixer but I am more than pleased with all the features and quality sound. Thank you Sweetwater Jeff Rohlfing for your help in making the right selection for a mixerf in the $ range as it far exceeded my expectations and has opened the door to many avenues of use.

New owner, very pleased.
Bought it for my son who is starting a garage band with some college friends. I used the old, wood-grained boards back in college myself (Yes, they were old even back then, but that's what we had access to), and this thing is light years ahead of anything I've used before. We had it home for 10 minutes and were already putting sound through it. It's packed with features you'd normally need external gear for. I'm running two powered Harbinger speakers from it. Sourcing guitar and bass (no DI boxes required!), 2 vocal mics, 2 drum mics, and still have room to grow if they add keyboard, accordion, or whatever. It's really flexible, and I love being able to route the signal from each channel selectively. I've only just scratched the surface of the effects, but adding them to a channel and dialing in the amount is so smooth. No more having to bother with separate send/return path (Unless that's what you want, because you can totally offload it if you want). Haven't even hooked up the laptop to it yet, but excited to see the features it offers for recording and monitoring. The Blutooth feature adds a bit to the cost over the ProFX12V3, but having that as an option onboard is great. You can switch over to a playlist between sets, or keep the party going if the band runs out of songs.

Compact mixer that gets the job done
I've owned this model for a few years and it has served our 4 member band well. One vocalist, one guitarist and vocalist, one bass player and harmonica player and then a guy on a percussion box. It's never let us down yet for gigs. I highly recommend it. I also run some vocal efx pedals through channel one. Well made and a decent price.

Used for Ham Radio
We bought this to replace a Yamaha mixer that didn't have as many channels nor did it have a mute function. This allows us to change between various radios very easily. We use a similar Yamaha mixer for karaoke. This is a good mixer for many applications.
