Reviews

Nice!
Definitely an upgrade from the stock Probuckers in my Les Paul. Huge tone improvement and very happy with the purchase.
Exactly what I needed for y PRS SE
Wanted something with better EQ and grit for my PRS SE Custom 24, (the stock pups were a bit flat imo; sounded like I had a blanket over the amp) so I thought I'd try the Pearly Gates set as I'm a huge ZZ Top fan as well as other blues and classic rock artists. These pickups did not disappoint. The bridge has a nice balanced growl, plenty of top end but rounded out on the low side. The neck has the low end you'd expect but maintains the clarity and definition whether you're playing rhythm or lead. Plenty of output on both without being ridiculous into my Deluxe Reverb. Instal was a piece of cake, plug and play with no mods needed to the body or pickup rings.

My Sire L7 is a Growly little Monster now!
I added these (And the Emerson pot kit with the Bumblebee caps) into my Sire L7, and just WOW. There's a growl and purr there now in a very good way that was not there before. If you plan to do this mod, it's not for the faint of heart, you will need a Dremel tool to make the 1/2" shaft diameter pots from the Emerson fit. Mine turned out very nice, and sounds fantastic!!! Search YouTube for Gramps Tries and watch/listen to a Guitar Cover I did called "Closer to Home" I did with this guitar after the mods, and thanks!
It's the sound I have been searching for!
I have owned a Gibson Les Paul since I bought it as a gift to myself upon graduating college 20+ years ago. This was my first real guitar, something made the "right way" after owning several Chinese made items prior. However, it always seemed to sit on the wall as I acquired new toys like my Stratocaster, Telecaster, PRS, or 335. I always felt bad for this guitar, it deserved to be played, but it just never called to me.

Enter the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. I installed these today in the Les Paul and I can't put it down. It is the true 70's classic rock sound that I was always looking for. Songs I have been playing for years sound so much better. Bands like Zeppelin, Aerosmith and of course ZZ Top sound like I've always hoped they would.

Funny part is, I took out a pair of Classic 57's from this guitar and sold them for more than the pearly gates cost me! If you are looking for something different and want a classic rock tone... this is your set!
Pearly Gates Upgrade To Stratocaster
I've had a MIM Fender Standard Stratocaster HH for a number of years now and loved the flexibility it had due to it also having coil tap capabilities. The stock pickups were okay but not anything that would wow a player as they were ceramic magnet with not too broad of a frequency range. I have a Les Paul and a Gretsch, so I knew these stock pickups were definitely lacking. The Pearly Gates humbucker set had been described by many reviews as being "full range, sweet, but rude if called upon". Got a set from Sweetwater and installed them in the old girl and she can sing or roar now with an amazing range of tones. I highly recommend these pickups, especially to anyone who may have a really nice playing guitar that happened to come with stock pickups that are barely making the grade. They transformed my really good guitar into a really great sounding guitar. Thanks to Sweetwater for being the best in the industry and to my sales rep, Tyler Nigro.
