Reviews

These are great, 280 dollar great?
So, I'm gonna through out a term, diminishing returns :) I believe I have hit that ceiling when I am replacing what are perfectly fine, fantastic, if you will, pick-ups that came in my Gibson Standard 60's Plain Top (purchased here, and amazing in every way, I just can't leave well enough alone).
That search for "the perfect guitar tone" is a sickness! One most of us are inflicted with unfortunately. So, yes, buy them, they're amazing sounding pick-ups that sit in the middle quite nicely.
I'm a huge FUZZ FAN, and they sound great with your Les Paul set to the middle position and the rhythm volume/tone rolled off just (between 9 - 8.5).
Once dialed in with my FUZZ (using the JHS muffuletta and a Tube Screamer post muff, just boosting the muff and filling some mid) these pick-ups really shine, it's what finally makes them worth the money, the tone chasing, and replacing what are already great Gibson pick-ups.
Sorry for the book but my point is one I think most of us understand. You don't "need" these, but if you have the disposable funds, might as well invest in your madness! I'm sure happy I did!
Music background: 30+ years of untrained playing, Rock, Metal, but mainly 90's alternative
Sound of ZZ Top
Telecaster on steriods, cleans up great and roar like angry cat
i have the aged CS version but the pickup is the same

use em to cover alot of sounds with a Lespaul in a coverband

These pickups won't let you down they deliver the sound for me.
If you have done your homework, and this is the sound you were looking for, then these pickups will deliver that sound smooth and wildly. I get unbelievable sound out of my Bargain priced used Epiphone Les Paul standard now. I rewired it for Jimmy page style wiring then bought these pickups. I consider it a $1000 guitar now. I think I am going to love this guitar for a long long time. These pickups were worth the price to me. I am not sorry that I bought them, and I am normally a cheap person.

Pickups For Pros
This is my second set. It's just about all I need in a humbucker. Perfect for blues, rock, and more. There's a lot of great pickups out there but lack identity. The PGs are great for SGs/Les Paul's. If your not a blues guy though this may not be for you. They definitely have a legit classic rock quality.

Every thing I wanted from a pair of pickups with a brighter-toned guitar. Huge improvement for my cort guitar it sounds great.
