Floor-based Power for Your Pedal-based Rig

Seymour Duncan’s PowerStage 200 is a miniature power amplifier that is engineered to attain the best tone and performance from your pedal-based electric guitar rig. Small enough to fit right on your pedalboard, the PowerStage 200 still pumps out an astounding 200 watts — more than enough to power any combination of guitar cabinets. And the onboard 3-band EQ makes it extremely versatile, no matter what pedals you are using for your front end. Complete with built-in speaker cabinet emulation so you can record directly into your DAW, the Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200 is a powerful solution both on the stage and in the studio.

Note: This device is intended to drive a speaker cabinet and should not be placed in front of an amplifier or pedals.

200 watts of clean power

More and more guitarists are getting hip to the great guitar tones that can be achieved by running your favorite guitar pedals — especially the amp-in-a-box variety — directly into a great power amplifier. That’s exactly what the PowerStage 200 is designed for. By utilizing this setup, your stompbox tones receive enough juice to scream through anything from a compact 1 x 12-inch cab to a 4 x 12-inch. This makes the PowerStage 200 a favorite among traveling guitarists who rely on rented backlines, as well as many of the gigging players around Sweetwater.

Convenient size

Unlike the heavy and large solid-state power amplifiers of the past, the Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200 electric guitar amp is housed in a compact and attractive enclosure that will nestle right in with your other pedals. Not only that, but the PowerStage 200 is a featherweight. When you’re done pummeling your audience's ears at the gig, simply pack up your pedalboard, and your amp is taken care of, too.

Plenty of tone-shaping power

The Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200 electric guitar amplifier is engineered to get the very most from your pedalboard. And thanks to a powerful 3-band EQ, it sounds great as its own clean channel as well. The onboard 3-band EQ works with the power stage to match up to any cabinet. No matter what you’re running on the floor, the PowerStage 200 will handle it flawlessly.

Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200 Features:

  • Compact power amp for a pedal-based guitar rig
  • 200W of power is enough for practically any type of performance
  • Small enough to fit in a backpack or right on your pedalboard
  • 3-band EQ in the power section for dialing in your ideal tone
  • Built-in cabinet simulation allows you to go direct to your DAW or a mixing board
  • Headphone output available for private practice sessions
  • Allows you to use your pedals as your rig's front end

Reviews

Loud and neutral
Super loud playing through a 4 ohm 212 with my fractal fm3.
Seymour Duncan power stage 200
This is a great transparent amplifier with plenty of headroom. I use it with a fractal audio FM 9 into the Seymour Duncan power stage and then into a 412 cabinet with Celestion vintage 30s. The EQ section is very powerful. I use it to balance out the sound on my presets instead of going in to the presets themselves to change anything. at lower volumes I increase the treble and the presence 2 to 3 notches, and it sounds fantastic at higher volumes I run all knobs at noon. The 4x12 is 16 ohms and has plenty of power. If you have a 8 ohms cabinet, it will be even louder.I played an evh 5150 iii 50 watt head through the same cab and for jamming I would turn the real amp volume to 3, on the Seymour Duncan i turn the volume nob to a little over 1/4 (or 3 o'clock) so for me it has plenty of head room. I was going to buy the power stage 170 but for a little xtra money 30 more watts and the presence nob was worth it for me. The power stage 700 was tempting to be able to run in stereo but I don't need that much power. I could not be any happier with my purchase. Watch some YouTube videos on it. If you're uncertain which one to buy give Logan Casper at Sweetwater a call, he'll help you out. He was very helpful.
Loud
I've been searching forever for the best pedal board amp to go along with my Boss GT-1000.I hit the jackpot. This is very loud and the EQ is an extra bonus. Let's you dial in the room. Also the Cab sim sound exactly like my 4 X 12 V3 Ir that I usually use when recording. Buy it if you are looking for a power amp!
Keeps up 100w Marshall
I am am running out of Bogner Harlow Boost pedal into a KSR Ceres preamp pedal into this. I just wired my Hughes & Kettner 2/12 cab to 4 ohms to max the power output of this amp. My concern with this amp when considering to purchase it was, could it keep up with a loud drummer playing live. Honestly with a 8ohm load I'd say no but with the 4 ohm load it most definitely can. I just checked it against my 100w Marshall JVM combo tube amp and was very satisfied with its performance. It's seems very well made and looks great. The idea of having the power of a heavy tube amp in the palm of my hand is amazing and a relief for my back.
Amazing Amp In A Box
I had been looking to reduce my footprint on stage and tried the Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200.
The amp went beyond my expectations in sound quality and output volume.
I have it mounted on my pedalboard and run it with a 2X12 cabinet.
Without the speaker cabinet, it works great for a "Silent" stage.
