High-precision Tuning, Strap-mounted Convenience

Boasting a revolutionary strap-mounted design, the Korg Pitchstrap provides you with high-precision tuning, and you won’t have to sacrifice pedalboard real estate or clip anything onto your headstock to reap the benefits. The Pitchstrap works by sensing string vibrations directly through your strap — no instrument contact is required. You get multiple display modes, including dedicated Guitar and Bass modes and a Strobe mode with ±0.1 cents accuracy. The Pitchstrap is USB rechargeable, offering eight hours of continuous use after one hour of charging. You also get a handy calibration function to conform the tuner’s pitch range to your individual musical scenario. Here at Sweetwater, we’re impressed with how securely the Pitchstrap attaches to your strap, even in the midst of an extremely active performance, and its stainless steel housing provides a luxurious look and durable finish. Sleek, accurate, and loaded with features, the Korg Pitchstrap makes keeping your axe in tune more convenient than ever.

Reviews

Great Tuner For Basses
I should start by mentioning that I primarily use a Peterson StroboStomp HD pedal on my board, both when recording and performing live. However, when I'm practicing or teaching lessons at a student's home, I often don't plug into my board. In those situations, I've typically relied on either a Peterson StroboClip HD or a TC Electronic UniTune clip-on tuner.

They work fine overall, but constantly removing and reattaching them every time I switch basses gets a bit annoying.

After seeing a few reviews, I decided to try the Korg Pitchclip Strap tuner—and I've been pleasantly surprised. Switching basses is now much faster since I just detach my strap and reattach it to the new bass. No more repositioning the clip to find the sweet spot or adjusting the display angle. I also appreciate not having to peek around the headstock or fumble for the power button—everything is right where I need it.

I wouldn't call it highly "accurate" in the same league as the StroboStomp — so I wouldn't use it for intonation adjustments or critical studio work—but it's accurate enough for live situations and gets you in tune quickly. For reference, it picks up bass strings well, though I typically use the 12th-fret harmonic for better response.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and feel it was worth the cost.

Pros:
* Attaches easily to your strap
* Easy-to-read display
* Quick access to features
* Simple power-off function
* Rechargeable battery (battery life is great)

Cons:
* Not as accurate as a strobe tuner
* Slight delay when powering on (common with clip-on types)
* Remembering it needs to be recharged occasionally
* More expensive than typical clip-on tuners
Great Tuner!
Tuning response is fast and accurate. Display is bright and easy to read. It's great having the tuner on the strap and out of the way.

Low B string on a 5-string bass does not register. However, it's easy enough to tune up using the octave or E on the fifth fret.

great idea horrible execution. i bought this, owned it for one day and returned it.
