A Vintage-voiced Diezel

The 45-watt Paul all-tube amp head offers much of the same playing experience as other Diezel amp heads, but it does so with a decidedly unique voice. Throughout its three channels, you'll still find a massive array of touch-sensitive gain levels. But with the Paul, you get it all with a more vintage voice that will appeal to gigging and recording guitarists. And the amp's ample switching features, such as compensated line out, dual effects loops, dual reverb circuits, and more make the Diezel Paul one amp that a recording studio shouldn't do without.

Old-school attitude

One look at the Paul 45-watt all-tube electric guitar amplifier head, and there is no mistaking it for anything other than a Diezel. But plug your guitar in, and you're greeted with three channels of old-school tone that is as comfortable on a hard rock gig as it is laying down tracks in Nashville. And though you're able to elicit massive amounts of gain effortlessly, a simple twist of your guitar's volume knob is all it takes to bring you back to clean and clear tone.

Supreme switching flexibility

When you turn the Paul around to take a look at its back panel, you quickly realize how truly flexible this amp is. Parallel and series effects loops are available to mate perfectly with your rig. The amp offers two jacks for controlling the Paul with Diezel's FS7 and Columbus switchers, or you can get the very most from the amp with its MIDI functionality. The Paul even makes your sound engineer's life easier with the inclusion of a great-sounding compensated line output.

The Diezel legacy

It wasn't long after Diezel released their first tube guitar amplifier head that they started popping up behind some of the most influential guitarists in the world — not bad when your first design remains your flagship! Guitarists such as Tool's Adam Jones, Journey's Neal Schon, and Metallica's James Hetfield were all early adopters to this new breed of tight precision distortion. Today, Diezel has greatly expanded their line of top-tier amplification. Sweetwater couldn't be more proud to represent the quality and tone that is Diezel Amplification.

Reviews

Great amp
At first I honest didn't like this amp. But once I learned how to dial it in I loved it. I'm use to my 5153, this amp seems like the treble, middle and bass effect each other like a mesa. Getting the mids where I wanted them on this amp was really the hard part. The placement of your channel volume and gain vastly affect the mids . Pairing it with a ts9 gave it the volume boost it needed and cleaned up the bottom end( using 7/8 string guitar). Mine actually shipped with EL34s not 6l6 tubes. It gives off a really full rich distortion tone, not as tight or focused as the 5153 but just sounds so much more organic. I know the 5153 and the Paul are way different amps but I'm using it for metal tones so that's why I compare it.
Fantastic
In love with this beautiful amp. Sounds fantastic.
Thanks to my sales engineering Frank Gerdts.
