Return of the 1970s Classic Wide Range Pickup

In the 1970s, the humbucker was hitting its stride, providing the fat stadium-sized tones that powered the era’s hard rock sound. Fender, still primarily known for its bright, twangy single-coil guitars, wanted in on the action, so they turned to legendary pickup designer Seth Lover to create a hot-rodded humbucker with a distinctive Fender flair. The result was the Wide Range pickup. Loaded into Telecaster Custom, Thinline, and Deluxe guitars of the time, Wide Range pickups were based around threaded CuNiFe (copper-nickel-iron) magnet rods set into an oversized bobbin. This combination produced a tone with humbucker girth and the signature Fender chime. When the Telecaster Custom was discontinued in 1979, the original Fender Wide Range pickups disappeared, and, for the past forty years, they have been coveted by tonechasers, fetching exorbitant prices on the collectors’ market. Now, the CuNiFe Wide Range pickup is back, with an authenticity and quality that could only come from Fender. Grab this classic pickup from Sweetwater and experience a hi-fi humbucker with a slick vintage vibe!

Reviews

great pickup.
Wired this up with a 1meg pot and it's awesome. Probably my new favorite neck pickup for a telecaster.
Installation
The pickups themselves are great but just know if you have a Delexe Tele, they may not fit, in my American Deluxe I had to 1, order a new pickguard, these pickups have 4 screws not 3, and are slightly larger. Also it would not fit the body route, I had to route the wood just slightly larger to make these fit, so they are not a drop in replacement for a shawbucker.
Fender cuneiform humbucker.
Well. That video was as limp as my old willy. Don't need a sales pitch. Sound samples work better.
