The best pickup I’ve found in 30 years
These pickups are the real deal. For years I used Seymour Duncan quarter pounders or various Dimarzio offerings. They all sounded great but never perfect. I also tried the 62 custom shop pickup and wasn't crazy about it. I kind of bought one of these on a whim and installed it in a Fender Mexican standard. It was like getting a new bass. I now own 5 different P basses and have this pickup in 4 of them.

One of the Best!
If you're looking for a classic P bass sound with good output, tone, and growl then this pickup is one of them. I had these put in one of my American Standard Precision basses and I'm very pleased all around with it. My other American Standard P bass has a Custom Shop 62' Pickup which is another favorite of mine. Pull the trigger and get these if you're already thinking about it!

Put them in my 70s squier w .1mfd fender capacitor and 450 g pots.
Best upgrade for my P Bass
Dropped this in my 2022 American Pro II Precision. That bass was almost perfect. Stock pickups are really good. Well balanced. But I wanted to step it up. Threw on some flat wounds, this pickup, a Babicz bridge, and rewired internals. Now it's funky.

It was night and day with the pickup swap and these are very sensitive to adjustment height so make sure and experiment a little bit. Great tone. Bass is way more fun to play now. Serious old school vibes. Can't put it down. I also bought a Lollar overwound to have a shootout. I can't bring myself to take these out. They may just stay permanently. Also, they're way cheaper. Fender knocked it out with these. I have heard countless demos of their whole line and these just won every time. The only thing above these would be some hand wound CS pickups but that's other level money. Do yourself a favor. Try them. They're great.
Found my sound!
These for me are the best sounding pickups for a precision bass! Just enough bottom and tops with a huge mid sweep! If you cut an oval circle in half to produce a visual of what the sound wave would like. Slightly taller towards the mid-lows. It cuts through a live band easily and that's including the keyboards. I have my eq set at 12:00 on the amp and just use the tone knob on my bass to create the sound I need for the song I am covering. If you use a pick they REALLY push out power. So possibly a softer attack unless you are not switching back and forth to finger style. I put these in my new precision 2, now I have the most of all worlds new and old! My AORM 60's is now my backup.
