A Jazzmaster-sized replication of Fender’s first humbucker
The Fender CuNiFe Wide Range Jazzmaster Pickup traces its lineage all the way back to Fender’s very first mass-produced dual-coil design: the Fender Wide Range Humbucker. It was a pickup created by legendary designer Seth Lover in an attempt to match the warm, full tone of Fender’s foremost competitor at the time. However, Seth’s choice to utilize threaded CuNiFe (copper, nickel, and iron) magnets resulted in a pickup that did indeed buck the hum, but it also managed to retain the shimmer and shine of a classic Fender single-coil. After many long years out of production Fender’s Wide Range humbucker is back in full CuNiFe-equipped force!
