The Spectra Goes Pro

Jackson’s JS and X Series Spectra basses have been huge hits at Sweetwater. Now, Spectra goes pro. The Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass SB V combines premium tonewoods and electronics with a sleek, ergonomic design that delivers the ultimate in tone and playability. It starts with an attractive multi-laminate body comprised of walnut, maple, and mahogany, with a stunning poplar burl top. For the ultimate in stability and sustain, Jackson’s 5-piece maple/walnut Speed Neck with graphite reinforcement runs through the body, and it’s capped with a caramelized jatoba fingerboard. It all adds up to a thoroughly upgraded professional bass guitar designed for working bassists who demand the highest performance from their equipment, onstage and in the studio. If you’re ready to take your music to the next level, give the Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass SB V a serious audition.

Compound-radius fingerboard for optimized playability

The Pro Series Spectra Bass SB V features a fingerboard with a performance-enhancing compound radius of 12 to 16 inches for the ultimate in playability. Conforming to the natural curvature of your fretting hand as it moves up and down the neck, the fingerboard is rounder near the nut for comfortably holding down the groove. As you head up to the solo range of the instrument, the radius flattens out for easier runs and string bends. Normally found only on expensive boutique instruments, the Spectra Bass SB V’s compound-radius fingerboard puts this high-end feature within reach of working bass players everywhere.

Powerful electronics let you tweak your tone to perfection

Jackson stocks the Pro Series Spectra Bass SB V with two powerful humbucking pickups, positioned to capture the fullest tone possible, while a 3-band EQ lets you sculpt your tone any way you see fit. The active electronics provide robust output to quietly drive long cable runs, your effects chain, and your amp. Or flip the active/passive switch and go battery-free for a funky old-school vibe. Whether you’re recording soulful R&B or cutting through a speed-metal mix onstage, the Spectra Bass SB V has the tone-shaping power you need.

Built with unbeatable Jackson quality

The Spectra Bass SB V — like all of Jackson’s Pro Series instruments — draws on the company’s decades of expertise. You get premium tonewoods, top-drawer electronics, and a wicked-fast neck with a silky smooth fingerboard, all at a price that belies its performance. Many guitarists and bassists at Sweetwater (and indeed, worldwide) are fiercely loyal Jackson players. Check out the Pro Series Spectra Bass SB V and you’ll know why.

Reviews

Jackson Pro Spectra SB V
I found this beauty on the "other guy's" site. So of coarse, I found it here. & fell in love, but the other site had a lower price & better financing? So I called my guy, Greg Titzer. & I said " Hey, this is what I want to pay, over this amount of time @ 0%, and that's final. He said OK! By the way this is the finest instrument I now own. It is amazing to play & at 9.03 lbs doesnt break my back.
Music background: In 1-3 bands. 1 or 2 gigs a month.
Fantastic bass
I love playing this bass. I had it setup by the Sweetwater techs and replaced the factory strings with DR High Beams. The sustain is incredible. It's a joy to play. I play mostly contemporary Christian music and jazz.
