I installed one at each end of a 15' Hosa guitar cable a few years back and have NEVER had an issue with artifacts or signal loss. The fact of the matter is that if you don't know you're way around a soldering iron or understand basic principles of cable construction you could end up with the problems other reviews have mentioned. Make sure you have solid solder joints and ground the shield at one end of the cable, then you'll be good-to-go.

I needed a right angle speaker connection due to the style of my monitor. I was constantly breaking straight cables.

This was my first attempt at soldering. I had seen it done many times before, but had never actually done it.

I examined the other end connections, repeated it on this connector, and everything worked as planned.

It would definitely work for instrument cable.

Large diameter speaker cables won't work with this connector. I would use Switchcraft.

It works but only if I don't touch it. If it moves, the sound cuts out. I was looking for something I could use while gigging, so obviously this is 100% not usable for that.
