A Custom Playing Experience from Day One

We drummers love to customize. The latest Mapex Falcon bass pedal offers the type of tailorability that today's players clamor for. Whether you play fast or hard (or both), the Falcon has the features to fine-tune your performance — from cool jazz to speed metal. Add beater weights for power, adjust the footboard for heel-up or heel-down applications, even swap out the Falcon's smooth chain drive for a snappy strap or direct-drive mechanism*. Wherever the music leads you, the Mapex Falcon can follow. New features include a sleeker, slimmer footboard for minimal impact on your setup and a smoother cam for maximum dynamic response. But fear not, set-and-forgetter. The Mapex Falcon bass pedal ships pre-configured from the factory for a great playing experience without tweaking.

Bottom: interchangeable drives sold separately

Evolves as your needs do

There's no part of the Mapex Falcon bass pedal that can't be configured to your tastes. Raise the footboard to find a comfortable playing angle, then adjust the beater weight and angle to hone in on your preferred level of torque and power. Each adjustment is unlocked by a single drum-key screw. Players can further adjust resistance and even swap out the chains for a strap or direct-drive mechanism*, for a playing experience that evolves as your needs do.

Hangs with the fastest feet

For fast players, the bass pedal can feel like the bottleneck in a performance. So if you need a pedal that's built for speed, the Mapex Falcon should be high on your list. Take it from Sweetwater drummers — anything lacking when you play this pedal is on you.

Responds to dynamics

The Falcon is built not just for speed, but for dynamic accuracy as well. Dynamic players will love feeling the pedal kiss the head for soft strokes and pummel it for heavier passages.

Bulks up for added power

Included with the Falcon's reversible felt/rubber beater are a set of weights in 10g increments. Weights slip inside the beater head to add force to your attack and further personalize your playing experience.

Secures safely to all bass drums

The Falcon's Self-Adjusting Hoop Clamp adjusts to fit all hoops at any angle, protecting the hoop from damage and positioning the base plate flat on the floor.

Plays great out of the box

Don't let the Mapex Falcon bass pedal's high configurability scare you away. This pedal ships pre-configured by Mapex for a great playing experience out of the box. So whether you're looking for a pedal you can pore over or a solid performer from day one, Sweetwater is happy to recommend the Mapex Falcon to our drumming friends.

I've been using these since they first came out.

I bought my Falcon double bass pedals when they first came out, which is around the same time the Black Panther Velvetone kit came out. Although, I don't usually fall right into music equipment like some. I have to get a feel of it, get used to it, then make adjustments as I do get used to it. 10 Years later, I've dialed in these pedals to be as I like them. As others say, I can go as fast as I want to, if I make it work that way. With a few special tweeks to the adjustments (because adjustments can be done in many ways), that any drummer can make these pedals do what they want. They are solid, quiet, rugged, smooth, and are a joy to use. From time to time, I would go to my local music store to feel what the other major brands had going, but I did not feel them at all. But the Falcon pedal does. Don't let anyone knock Mapex stuff. It's good equipment at a good price. I still also have my M-Birch kit that I bought used from my nephew, who got it from his drummer buddy, who got it from whoever bought it new before him! I still have all the hardware that came with it too. the only things that wore out, were the base level drum throne and the 500 series double pedals, but only because the male to female knuckle where the shaft goes into the main pedal rounded out, probably from not tightening it enough. That was already that way before I got it. Other than that, I have tons of hardware and I'll never run out, because nothing wears out. I also tensioned my Velvetones as I like them (very versatile and wide tuning range). Don't count Mapex out, by far.

I've played many over the years but these are the BEST

Seriously. You will feel like you are on a cloud. Not so light and not so heavy. Just exactly what you give them.

Excellent double pedal

While I did not buy mine from Sweetwater (I wasn't aware of them at the time) I absolutely love this double pedal. My kit included the chain and strap drives. Both are really good but I like the strap better. I am interested in acquiring the direct drive but I cannot find it listed on Sweetwater's site.
Music background: Playing for fun.

These are in my opinion the best in their price range.

I have tried the Iron Cobra's and loved them, have tried the Eliminators and loved them less then the Cobras but still great pedals, and now I have tried the Falcons and can say that they have the power of the Eliminators with the smooth action of the Cobras. The Falcons also have a slightly longer foot pedal that for me at least has resulted in a better sweet spot for continuous fast playing or very powerful doubles. I haven't tried the Flying Dragons which I'm sure are also awesome, but I feel there is no need, the Mapex Falcons are the best.

A Pleasure To Play

I opted to buy this after recently buying the Falcon hihat stand. I was incredibly impressed by that stand and since I’m making a lot of progress in my playing abilities, I knew my old double pedal was seriously in need of an upgrade. I had a decent pearl pedal but it was very old, single chain, and it was fighting my feet. I knew that the pedal’s build quality would be on par with the stand and all the other expectations I had built up after watching videos were satisfied. It just feels great under the foot and reduces the work/effort needed to play. It’s not nearly as fatiguing as the old pedal. So easy to play and get a solid hit. The case is very nice and the weights are a nice option, Mapex ia quickly becoming a brand I really believe in after it was really never in my radar as far as the big drum names. They make awesome stuff and have very clever details that mean something instead of just being a gimmick. Looking forward to running many many miles with this pedal!
