Longboard Dual-chain Double Pedal from PDP

The PDP 800 Series dual-chain double bass pedal has more than 20 years of PDP/DW research and development behind it. From the extended-length XF footboards with needle-bearing hinges to the low-play black telescoping pedal linkage, the PDDP812 double pedal is characterized by a sleek look and price-defiant modern performance. The PDDP812's cast concentric cams are driven by dual chains to supply a fluid response that even the most demanding Sweetwater drummers continue to rely on. The dual-post side supports really help channel power and speed directly to PDP's 2-way reversible beaters, which not only give you two types of sounds on acoustic kick drums, but suit this pedal to electronic kits as well. Underneath, you get stabilizing solid base plates and an offset hoop clamp for fast, knuckle-saving hoop attachment and removal. There's even a DW drum key secured right to the base plate — the only tool you'll need to link, break down, and customize this pedal.

Smooth action

Double chain, double base pedals for a great price! Easily attached to my new TD-17KVX kit. Pedal tension easily adjustable (for each pedal). Contruction seems robust enough to play these for many years! Only issue is the connecting rod between pedals is a bit long for my setup, but I figured a way to make the second pedal location comfortable. And of course, Sweetwater's customer service is second to none!

Very Good Double Kick

I bought this to replace my old DW 5000 that I've had since the early 2000s, figuring with new technology, a pedal at half the price now would be on par with that old DW. I was mostly correct. This thing works great and has all of the same features (at least the ones I use) as the 5000.

My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars, is that after playing it heavily for a few hours, the left beater creeps forward so that it's closer to the head than the right beater. It's easy to fix, but can cause issues when it happens in the middle of a song. The work-around is tightening the nut that attaches the beater to the drive right before you play. It'll usually hold for a whole show/recording session then.

Would definitely recommend if you need a new (good) double kick but don't want to spend $400+

Strangely bundled double bass pedal

This double bass pedal was bundled with the Alesis nitro mesh e drum kit. Being that I'm pretty new to drums it took me some time to get around to assembling the double bass pedals. Once I did I realized that this double bass pedal does NOT line up with my bass pad at all. It's too small and the beaters aren't adjustable to line up with the mesh head. If the bracket and brace lined up a bit better it would be tolerable but it clips on sideways which causes the whole unit to rotate when I try to use both pedals. I found this out too late unfortunately so I'm stuck with this for now. Small bass triggers beware!

They are OK

These were my first double pedals and I did learn the basics on it. The pedals are not well balanced and the left pedal has nowhere near the same power as the right, and the left pedal likes to scoot forward even when the spurs are down. I will say, the beaters are actually kinda good and have a nice sound. These are good beginner pedals but ai would definitely recommend you get something else.

Decent Pedal with Some Flaws

Pros: This pedal feels well made. Easily adjustable. Beaters feel lightweight but hit pretty hard. Lowest cost while still getting full metal bottoms on both pedals. Slave pedal DOES NOT MOVE, even without the spikes. I was really impressed with that part. I've had much more expensive pedals slide around on me.

Cons: Nothing stays tightened. Adjusted the beater height and both the memory locks kept coming loose, and the regular height adjustment came loose. Within one jam session they had moved around despite careful measurement to get them where I wanted them. Tightening the springs sometimes was too much for the main beater angle adjustment lug and it would slip. Ultimately I just had to adjust the springs to less tension and then it was fine. The memory lock for the springs seemed to slide up and down at will. The final nail in the coffin was the main pedal does NOT stay straight when attached to the rim. Tested on my roland, and another drum set. It seemed to be a consistent problem. Just bumping it with my foot would cause it to misalign, and then the beaters would hit the bass drum at odd angles. In the end, I had to return it over this last one. I'm not denting up or ruining a bass drum head over it.
