Value-packed, Boutique-inspired Backbeat

Looking for a boutique snare without the boutique price? The PDP Concept series of snare drums warrants your serious consideration. PDP Concept series snares center around a 10-ply European maple shell with all the attack, balance, and sustain that this beloved tonewood is known for. Each Concept snare also comes stock with DW’s renowned MAG throw off and True-Pitch tension rods that help you achieve your desired tone and snare response in mere moments. Finally, dual-turret lugs offer a stylish vintage look and Remo drumheads ensure you'll sound great at your next jam session.

DW's ingenious MAG throw off

The DW MAG snare drum throw off is an absolute workhorse, with horizontal tension adjustment and smooth, easy-to-adjust action. And thanks to the magnet that's integrated into its body, this throw off won't release without a slight tug when its handle is in the up position. When the MAG throw off does release, however, it throws the strainer completely off the head to avoid strainer buzz. Many of the drummers here at Sweetwater laud the reliability and adjustability of the MAG throw off.

PDP Concept Snare Drum Features:

  • Value-packed snare drum inspired by high-end DW snares
  • 10-ply European maple shell with plenty of warmth, definition, and resonance
  • Comes stock with DW's MAG throw off snare system and True-Pitch tension rods
  • Dual-turret lugs
  • Remo drumheads sound fantastic right out of the box

Reviews

Impulse buy
I own a PDP kit which is perfect for me. Local gigger. Not a great drummer. I wanted a snare drum with a bit more depth than my 5.5. This thing is weird. Tough to tune and the the tension rods keep backing out. Initially, I bought new heads, new wires and then had to buy lug locks. Now I need some for the bottom rim. Better off buying a higher end drum for the money I spent on it. Not sure what's up with this new batch of drums. (Nothing to do with Sweetwater)
