Value-packed Acoustic-electric Bass

Getting some serious bang for your buck is always a plus. And with the Ibanez PCBE14MH acoustic-electric bass, you'll get much more than meets the eye. This bass features onboard Ibanez electronics for natural tone, easy gigging, and recording straight into an interface. The built-in tuner is a lifesaver for moments when external tuners aren’t available. The all-okoume body projects a deep, mahogany-like tone with gobs of resonance. You’ll enjoy breezy playability, courtesy of the maple neck and laurel fingerboard. If you need an acoustic bass that can keep up with you when you take the stage, then grab the Ibanez PCBE14MH from Sweetwater.

All-okoume body delivers standout tone

It’s a widely known fact that bassists are serious about their tone. Luckily, the PCBE14MH is made from okoume to deliver a robust and resonant tone. Okoume, one of the most popular tonewoods in the Ibanez acoustic lineup, is incredibly similar to mahogany both sonically and visually. The warmth and balance of okoume pairs excellently with singers and songwriters. Whether you’re playing solo, unplugged with your friends, or holding down the groove onstage, the Ibanez PCBE14MH’s tonewoods will be right at home.

Ibanez electronics with built-in tuner

The Ibanez PCBE14 acoustic-electric bass has an under-saddle pickup that runs into Ibanez’s AEQ-2T preamp. This preamp has a volume knob with bass and treble controls for crafting the perfect plugged-in sound. The simple controls make it easy to dial in the perfect tone. Changing batteries is a breeze, too. Simply drop your 9-volt battery into the control plate on the upper bout, and you’re ready to rock.

Ibanez PCBE14 Acoustic-electric Bass Features:

  • Grand Concert body style projects a balanced tone and is comfortable to play
  • Okoume top, back, and sides create rich tone and fat midrange
  • Open-pore finish looks great and lets the body vibrate freely
  • Slim maple neck provides excellent playability
  • Die-cast tuners enable stellar tuning stability
  • Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp reproduces your acoustic sound perfectly

Bass guitar
I ordered this bass for a beginner level bass. I was pleasantly surprised with what I got. It's a beautiful acoustic/electric bass. Sounds awesome with or without amp. I am not a bass player but I was hoping my wife would take interest it it. She doesn't play bass but now she wants to learn but she has to wait her turn lol. The built-in electronics and tuner works really well.
Thanks to my rep. Josh Strid for the recommendation for starters this is an awesome choice.

Really surprising instrument, love it!
Ordered this on an impulse one night for practicing and such. What I received was a very well made, playable out of the box, thoroughly enjoyable instrument. Acoustically, not much projection. Plugged in however, look out! I used it on a couple of live gigs in classic rock situations and the band (and I) were impressed with the full tone and lack of feedback on a fairly loud stage. I didn't even have to adjust my amp much to switch from my electric to maintain continuity of sound.
The particular instrument I received has excellent workmanship and holds tuning extremely well. The only gripe I have is that the edge binding around the body is pretty sharp and can bite into your arm depending how you hold it.
I would recommend this one to anyone looking to add an acoustic quality to their playing. I also use this in my church praise band setting to compliment the more acoustic nature of our group.
