What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items

Better than Advertised

Three years ago I sold my 80s Fender American Std Strat and have been missing it ever since. Went looking for a replacement under $ and wanted the classic strat sound with modern upgrades. The Pacifica 612, at $, has that and, IMHO, is far far superior to the Fender Player series, which I played. Probably not as good as the Fender Professional (at over $) but really is surprisingly close. Build quality is top notch and the guitar is a tone monster. Neck feels great, stays in tune, and the Seymour Duncan PUs, especially the Humbucker, crank out great sound. I also love the updated Strat look.

I have 2 other Fender electrics and this one has become my go to instrument for recording and will be out front once the band gets back together. For comparison I play mostly clean through Fender delux Reverb amp. Could not be happier with a guitar purchase. Thank you to my Rep,Dustin Keesbury, for getting this for me.
Music background: Play lead guitar in folk rock band.

Budget premium guitar

I bought this guitar 11 months ago, and have been loving it the whole time. This was actually the first "premium" guitar I've ever bought in my life. I decided to go with Yamaha because they're cheaper compared to an equivalent Fender, and their build quality has a good reputation online. I also happen to really like the look of this guitar. It's blacked out, but not in a "metal dudes only" type of way, and I like the subtle flame maple veneer peeking through the finish.

I can personally vouch for Yamaha's build quality reputation now. The guitar I received is nearly perfect. The only imperfection is the fourth fret buzzes for the low E and A strings. It's not a lot of buzz, and most people would probably have a low action setup with a little bit of fret buzz all over the place, so you wouldn't notice. I only notice because I play with my action basically as high as I can make it specifically to avoid any and all fret buzz. I have my neck relief at 0.005" and the saddles are as high as they go, but I still get a little bit of buzz at that one spot. I'm thinking the fouth fret is a tiny bit uneven on the low strings side or something.

But besides that, this guitar is impeccable. I've been extremely satisfied with it and can easily see myself using just this guitar for the rest of my life.

Better than famous name for hundreds less

When upgrading from a Pacifica 112 I naturally looked at the 612 and ended up buying it. By comparison, the equivalent famous brand was $300 more for less guitar (inferior pickups & bridge, plastic nut, no locking tuners, etc.) While I'm mostly a noodler, I am very pleased with this guitar. It plays great, looks great, and is a great value.

Pacifica 612

This is a true super strat at a great price. Its not the entry-level guitar that a lot of people associate with the Pacifica line. Given the option, I will reach for this every time over my Mexican made Strat. That said this has become my go-to guitar even though I have other more expensive options.

Pac 612

I am extremely impressed by this guitar. It came to me in impeccable condition. Not a mark on it, in tune/intonated and played fantastically. I'm impressed with the overall quality of construction and attention to detail, especially with the Graphtech nut and string trees. Hardware feels good and the ability to split the humbucker adds to my enjoyment of having a combination of the Fender and Les Paul sound. A 'guitar mentor' friend of mine borrowed it and shredded it to the point I had to change stings. He was impressed. I am very happy with this ax. Thank you Taylor Perry and Sweetwater!
