Even Lighter Than the Original Pro1-V Double!

For the Pro-1V Low Mass double pedal, Trick has managed to mill out 7 ounces from the underside of each footboard — nearly half the weight of the previous BigFoot longboard design — for an almost weightless response underfoot. And trust us: that nearly half a pound per board makes an appreciable difference in terms of speed and precision. Singles, doubles, feathers, and beater buries all feel incredibly satisfying to play on this pedal. And this isn't even to mention all the original Pro1-V's hallmarks: its on-the-fly compression spring thumbwheel adjustments, spring-loaded hoop clamps, zero-play drive shaft, and independent beater and footboard angling. It all comes to you in an impressive US-made machined aluminum housing and featuring a 1:1 direct-drive system for the ultimate in touring and performance dependability.

Lightweight longboard footboard design

With the Low Mass series of double pedals, Trick Drums has managed to shave off 7 ounces of weight per side versus the previous BigFoot footboard design. This gives you the same longboard playability — that full-length travel and control — at a reduced weight for even greater performance.

Direct-drive linkage

A chainless direct-direct system transfers the full momentum of your performance to the beater head in the Pro1-V Low Mass. Three drive link adjustments on each side allow you to tailor your pedal response for speed, power, or balance.

Spring-loaded hoop clamps

Finish-safe, spring-loaded hoop clamps pair the Pro1-V Low Mass to your kick drum without twisting or wrenching.

Zero-play drive shaft

The double version of the Pro1-V Low mass is effectively two single pedals linked together by Trick's very own P1V6 Drive Shaft. This incredible piece of engineered from 6061-T6 aluminum and utilizes four roller bearings per linke to eliminate latency and backlash to a negligible degree.

Aerospace aluminum construction

The Pro1-V Low Mass pedal is crafted from solid billets of aluminum machined to aerospace tolerances. This means big performance in a lightweight and durable package.

Spring tension thumbwheels

Unlike bridge-style kick pedals, the Pro1-V Low Mass's internal compression springs are mounted inside the body and each controlled by a single external knob. Adjusting spring tension per side is now as simple as turning a radio dial.

Unlimited customization

The Pro1-V Low Mass is, above all, a player's pedal, with infinite room for customizing speed, power, and travel. A split-cam design allows you to adjust each side's beater angle and footboard angle independent of one another, for a truly customized playing response. Cam markings allow you to recall settings at a glance.

3-way adjustable beaters

Kick precision begins and ends with the beater. The Trick Drums Pro1-V beater, weighing in at a mere 2.8 oz., is not only lightning fast, but highly dynamic as well. This beater gives players of all styles, metal to swing, the control they demand. The multi-pivoting machined aluminum beater head sits upon a virtually indestructible titanium shaft, while removable beater caps offer three striking surfaces — Delrin, felt, and aluminum — for far-reaching sonic diversity. You can even slide the striker up and down on the shaft to accommodate any diameter of kick drum. For this reason and more, the Trick Drums Pro1-V Low Mass from Sweetwater is one double pedal you need to check out for yourself.

Trick's P1V6 Drive Shaft utilizes four roller bearings per side to all but eliminate latency and backlash.

Trick Drums Pro1-V BigFoot Low Mass Direct Drive Double Bass Pedal Features:

  • Crafted from lightweight and rugged aerospace aluminum
  • BigFoot longboard full-range footboard design
  • Direct-drive linkage provides a virtually 1:1 performance translation

  • Independent beater and footboard angle adjustments per side

  • Aluminum P1V6 Drive Shaft exhibits zero-play performance

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

Reviews

Awsome is too inadequate a description!
I got these in low mass, but converted them to standard. Nothing wrong with the low mass boards. They feel amazing! I just wanted to compare the feel of the standard ProV boards to the low mass. As is, these pedals invite me to play, and when it's way past midnight, and the neighborhood is crashed, these pedals DARE me to play. I've been almost a year with 'em, and it doesn't look like the honeymoon will ever be over. With the standard ProV boards, they can compare with the DW 9000, only, I know these pedals will outlast, and take more of a prolonged arse whoopin' than the DWs. These stompers are tough as tanks! They are easy to maintain, and should the need arise: easy to repair. Parts can be had much easier than acquiring the pedals themselves: Trick keeps a great web store.
Simply amazing and worth the Wait. The low mass longboards are extremely smooth. If you play fast and want a high quality, customizable, modular design, these are the pedals for you!
THE TRICK PEDAL & SWEETWATER SALES
Arguably one of the best double pedals you can buy. I waited about a year to receive these. My sales engineer, Will, is top class. He always kept me informed about the product delivery timeline. I have nothing but good things to say about Will's team and Sweetwater. They always put the customer first. Sweetwater reigns supreme in the online sales of music gear. You can buy in confidence with Sweetwater and they will work with you to help you find what you need.

WHY I CHOSE THIS PEDAL
I went through tons of research on double pedals once I realized it was time to upgrade my rusty entry level double pedal of 10 years, which was now holding me back. I looked at Axis, Czarcie Kopyto, Pearl, Yahama, Tricks. I knew I wanted direct drive and a longboard. Many of my favorite metal drummers are on Tricks. I've seen drummers in person who recommended them over the other brands. I've only heard good things about these Trick pedals. I've heard good things about the Demon Drives and tried them out. Demon Drives were my second choice because even in the longboard configuration, they were shorter than I expected.

- They look incredible (not really an objective PRO but it has to be said when the product looks this nice)

LOW MASS LONGBOARD DOUBLE PEDAL PRODUCT CONS
- Endless customization
- Delivery time for product to arrive from Trick
- No case included like the Demon Drives. Trick case sold separately for these.

PRODUCT REVIEW
The Trick low mass double pedals are unreal to me. I'm coming off a rusty 10 year old entry level double pedal that squeaks and looks like it could break if I dropped it hard enough. I learned how to play fast on that entry level double pedal. My speed, control, and ankle technique has transferred over, but now with extreme ease and confidence in playing on the tricks. I went with the low mass longboard because I play metal and higher bpm. I have huge feet (size 12-13), and I feel comfortable with these longboard pedals.

They say gear doesn't make you better, but I would argue in this case it does. I simply could not play the same double pedal sections *in the same way* on my old pedals. I'm using the default setting on these pedals for now, which I believe has the tension on max. Good for speed. I still have to play around with the customization (which is nearly infinite on this pedal). I've read you can get lost in finding the perfect settings for these. Maybe that is also a con if you can even consider it one.

The modularity in this design is incredible. If I switch to a double kick drum configuration, these are easily adaptable because you can convert to single pedals. That is a top notch design by Trick. By future proofing their design and not trapping their customers into buying more products, I can buy this pedal knowing it will work in more than one scenario. I'm a huge fan of that aspect because my setup will change over time.

Considering the modularity, build quality, and overall feel of these pedals, I must put them at a max score - 5/5. I hope this review helps those in doubt. The Trick Bigfoot really stands up to its hype. Just order a pair if you are in need of a new pedal. Keep in mind you will wait some time before they arrive. If you need something ASAP and cannot wait months for a new pair, maybe these are not for you. You must have patience for purchasing these, but it will be worth it in the end.

Wow!!!
I've owned and still own a lot of pedals because I'm a pedal nerd. Had these for a little over a year, and these made me want to work on extreme double bass. I do find it easier to do choppy breakdown stuff on low-med tension chain drive still, but if you're wanting those long runs of 220-beyond, these things are awesome!!! Chops are still very doable with practice, for sure. Still have demon drives and the updated IC's, and love them… but there's just something about Tricks. I feel like this pedal, more than any, have to be a love them or hate them because they just ride differently. An absolutely ultimate tool if you give it the time!!! Trust and buy!!!
Game Changer
I bought these to replace my 20+ year old Iron Cobras. I was apprehensive because I'd never played a set but, I'd replaced the drive shaft on the cobras with an aftermarket Trick one and it made them like new! So I decided to buy the actual pair. Kept the cobras as backups, but to be honest, I don't think I'll ever need them again. These pedals are tanks! There's so many ways to make them your own, it's near impossible to dislike or fail with them! 10/10 would blind buy them for eternity.

Trick Drums P1VBFLM2 Pro1-V Bigfoot Low Mass Double Bass Drum Pedal
I bought them on backorder in May, with no promises made to when I'd see them except "December". No problem, I know the shipping delays are ridiculous for everything, and I don't want a used set, so I pulled the trigger on these low mass Bigfoots. Was very pleasantly surprised to get notified in the first week of July that they were on the way, and I received them 7/12. Took me a few to unbox and set up but..... absolutely godly speed, it took me less than 10 minutes to dial in and adapt to them, replacing very capable double chain power glide iron cobras (which have a Trick drive shaft). I've loved my cobras a long time, but the Bigfoots are just next level. I think the only problem I had was that they were slippery on my drum rug, and that was easily remedied by the incredibly sticky velcro they provided. Would recommend to any drummer.
