Aged Jensen Tones Right Out of the Box

While the P10R reissue has long served as a Sweetwater speaker standard for vintage-style Fender amplifiers, Jensen’s P10R-FEN offers a whole new spin on the formula. As the name suggests, the P10R-FEN Vintage Alnico Speaker was initially developed specifically for a slew of Fender Custom Shop reissue amplifiers, sporting a sweeter, warmer, and more subtle tone. Although this 10-inch, 25-watt speaker is less of a period-correct “reissue” than the P10R, its unique cone membrane offers a wonderfully aged sound to better mimic the feel of a well-broken-in vintage Jensen speaker. Plus, kicking the P10R-FEN into overdrive unlocks a rich, creamy overdrive response, with trebles that sing with clarity without sounding overly bright. For the guitarist craving vintage Jensen/Fender tone right out of the box, look no further than Jensen’s P10R-FEN.

Jensen P10R-FEN Vintage Alnico 10-inch 25-watt Speaker Features:

  • A slightly modified version of Jensen’s classic P10R speaker
  • Alnico magnet, 25W rating, and 10-inch design result in a sweet, punchy response with rich highs and open lows
  • Unique cone membrane for a broken-in sound right out of the box

1965 Gibson Skylark replacement
I replacement my 60 year old Gibson GA5 Skylark speaker with this new Jensen, and could not be happier. Exact fit, looks great and sounds even better. Great smooth low end, crystal clear high end and is magic when dimed. I have had great experience with Jensen, and will continue to be my go to for that vintage accuracy.
Sounds killer in a PRRI
I really liked the stock speaker (C10R) but it was a little harsh sometimes and lacked some definition/depth. This P10R-Fen is the second speaker I tried, the first being the GA10-SC64. That's a great speaker but had more midrange than I was looking for and not enough sparkle. This P10R-Fen is exactly what I was looking for. My PRRI still sounds like itself but the highs are tamed and the sound is more articulate. It's a bit quieter but since I only use my amp for recording/practice, it's perfect. If you are looking to keep the same DNA but add some richness to your sound, look no further.
Great Replacement Speaker
Have a vintage fender amp and needed a replacement speaker and Andy gave me the best price on exactly what I needed! Thank you Andy! And thank you Sweetwater hope you have a blessed holiday season!
Great for a 65 Princeton reissue
I have had this speaker in my 65 Princeton for months now and really like it. I first had the regular p10r which is very nice also. This Fender edition has noticeably less midrange for a very scooped tone. It really sounds great for cleans and accentuates the typical classic strat clean tones. It is a little less bright in high end when using OD pedals also. Less sharp highs than the regular p10r. Sometimes it can feel too mid scooped with gain, but an eq pedal or dirt pedal that has enough midrange works nicely with it. It's sensitivity rating is way low at 92.5 which allows you to get more amp volume up vs a super loud speaker making your amp loud at low volume settings.
I'm impressed
I put this speaker into a Fender Princeton Reverb '65 Reissue amp. I have never owned a regular P10R, so I can't compare to that, but I do like the P10R-FEN. The highs are subtle and not ice-picky. And the overdriven tone is excellent. Recommended.
